Our cabin's a win-win
In 1834, it was a chicken coop nestled between the house and barn. Today, it's a cozy cabin just a stone's throw away from the villa and venue. From the private, rural setting to the rustic decor, you'll feel as though you've traveled back to simpler times. It's unique, refreshing and oh-so tranquil. Chestnut Cottage
Built in 1890, Chestnut Cottage is located in the heart of the historic district within easy walking distance of shops, galleries, restaurants and historic sites. The Cottage features a comfortable living room, bright dining room, country kitchen, first floor bathroom and two upstairs bedrooms with one queen bed and one twin bed. Chestnut Cottage features artwork by prominent local artists. Wi-Fi, cable TV, DVD/CD players are included. Complimentary coffee/tea service. Minimum two night stay.

Open concept with a two story fireplace, porch fireplace, firepit, and open loft for sleeping (1 bed), with spiral stairs, lots of windows, walnut floors and trim, oak beams and pine kitchen tops. Shower is big and open, with doors opening to a back deck for outdoor showering. Beautiful covered porch overlooking rolling meadows and woods.

The Lumber Yard Cottage is a cozy hidden retreat tucked away from the road. Within walking distance of all Mineral Point has to offer. Great restaurants on all sides of this property and wonderful shops are just up the road. The Cheese Trail and railroad museum are across the street. Enjoy the back porch with the wraparound stone wall or the lovely front porch and watch the world slowly drift by. There is a queen size bed, jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, ac unit, full kitchenette, and wi-fi.

Nestled among 15 acres of rolling hills, the cabin can serve as a place to hunker down and read three novels, or a home base for hiking, cycling and putting the nature back in your life. Be advised, there is NO television and that’s for good reason. Cook, drink, eat, play, relax and refresh yourself. Wake up to the songs of birds and listen to the owls at night while you’re warming yourself around a bonfire.

Hamilton Goebel House
This house is a historic home that was built in 1833 on land owned by Jamison Hamilton, the founder of Darlington. It is not known if he actually lived in the house,but could be assumed. During your stay you will find bits of history and pictures that have been gathered along the way.It has all the comforts of home. A beautiful four bedroom home that has been completely renovated to reflect the old and new times. This home was on the list to be torn down by the city.

Situated alongside the Mississippi River, wildlife abounds in every season. With eagles nesting nearby, there is always something new to see from the beautiful sunrises, cruise ships passing by, and watching the commerce of the barges and railroad right out the front window! This home has been recently refurbished and sits at the edge of our 15 acres. You can see us and visit with us if you like, or you can maintain privacy 10 acres away!

Located less than half a mile from Platteville’s Historic Second Street, about a half mile to the nearest Roundtree Branch Trail access, and less than a mile from UW-Platteville, we are within walking distance of most of Platteville’s main attractions!
