This is not just a regular place to stay: this cozy, spacious one-bedroom lies in the heart of São Paulo´s "Baixo Centro" - the old historical city centre that has become hip again with an influx of artists and plenty of new art galleries, nightlife and the best food in the world.
The apartment is on the 21st floor of Edificio Viadutos, designed by Artaxo Jurado, a landmark in 1940-50s mix of modernist and art deco architecture. You will be able to lie on a hammock and enjoy São Paulo´s urban landscape from very high above.
It is a very big one-bedroom: it has a king size double-bed in the bedroom, a nice 4 seater chaise-longue style sofa and 40´´led TV. The apartment also has a fully equipped kitchen.
The entire place has been entirely painted and renewed with wood flooring and new furniture and appliances in January 2013, so you get to enjoy the feeling of a "vintage" location within the confort of modernity.
You´ll probably enjoy so much exploring nearby areas on foot (Praça da Sé, Teatro Municipal, Viaduto do Chá, Praça da Republica, Bexiga, Baixo Augusta, Liberdade - there´s so much you can do and see without a car around here) that you won´t have to worry much about getting stuck in São Paulo´s nightmarish traffic jams.
And when you need to stray away from the city centre, you won´t need to spend much on taxis; Republica and Anhangabaú subway stations are a 5-minute walk from my doorstep, and buses to all parts of town run past just outside the building.
In case you or someone who´s coming with you has a disability or mobility impairment, rest assured: I am a wheelchair user living independently here. The building and the apartment are completely accessible for those who need it.
Really, I love my home. My building and this part of Sao Paulo. So much that I don´t want to bore you with too much bragging here. Just come and be happy is all I can sincerely say.
Keep things the way you found them and be considerate with the neighbours by not making noise at night time.
