This updated oceanfront cottage on a private 1.6 acre lot has everything you need for a romantic getaway, relaxing family vacation, or just to get away from it all. Located on Vancouver Island's beautiful, rugged west coast, it is a scenic 1 hour drive from Victoria and a 25 minute drive from Sooke. It's just minutes away from several beaches and world-famous hiking trails.
This updated cottage, on a private 1.6 acre oceanfront lot, has a large outdoor sundeck that overlooks the beach and ocean below. The kitchen, dining, and living area are open concept. The well equipped kitchen includes a full size fridge, stove top, microwave oven, toaster oven and coffee maker. On the sun deck there is a Weber BBQ and table with 6 chairs for dining outside. The inside dining area has a table and benches that can seat six. There is a full updated bathroom with bathtub and shower and two bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. The living room has a comfortable hide-a-bed sofa, an easy chair, and a wood burning fireplace. There is also a small loft for young kids to play and hideaway in.
Steps below the cottage you will find a private, secluded deck just above the beach that offers a spectacular 180 degree view of Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Peninsula. It is the perfect place for relaxing while reading a book, watching the surf, winter storm watching or taking in a stunning sunset. The beach is just a few steps below.
There is a good selection of games and puzzles and plenty of firewood is available for cozy evening fires (although there are electric baseboard heaters in each room as well). While there is a phone for unlimited local calls (includes Victoria) we have purposely left the cottage without internet, WiFi, or cable so guests can hopefully connect more with nature and each other during their stay.

Guests should pick up gas and groceries in Sooke (or Victoria) before heading to our cottage as there is nothing close by other than a few small restaurants. There are, however, a few basic food items at the cottage that guests are welcome to use.
