Enjoy the tranquility of our waterfront suite, and yet be within 10 minutes drive of downtown Victoria! This bright suite opens onto an expansive lawn leading down to a large deck, and floating dock. Feel free to bring your kayak or standing paddle boards. Enjoy your morning coffee with the swans! Nearby is the Galloping Goose walking /cycling trail, or take a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Gorge Waterway.
This is a bright lower level suite which opens out directly onto its own deck with BBQ looking over an expansive lawn with a shared waterfront deck and floating dock. Open plan living/eating area (with double pullout bed), and full kitchen all have windows facing the view. Comfortable queen size bed in the private bedroom, and a 4 piece bathroom. There is also a full-size washer/dryer. Being situated in a bird sanctuary you will see our local herons and swans, and sometimes kingfishers and eagles! We also have resident sea otters, and visits by harbour seals in the herring season!
You have access to your suite using a lockbox. The whole suite and attached deck and BBQ are yours to enjoy. The rest of the lawns, firepit, lower deck and floating dock are shared, but there is plenty of room to find your own peaceful spot! Please note there is only one parking spot available for this suite.

Our waterfront property is located in a bird sanctuary where you can enjoy your breakfast with the herons, and swans. On occasion you may see eagles, kingfishers, otters, and seals! You will not find a more tranquil setting so close to town! Feel free to bring your canoe, kayak or paddle board!
There are longterm tenants in the 2 other suites in the house. They love the house because of the peaceful idyllic setting, and so we have a low noise policy, with quiet period from 10 pm onwards.
Moira and I were born and brought up in Africa (Zimbabwe), and moved to Canada in 1987. We have been married for 33 years (Yes, I KNOW we don't look old enough :), and we have 3 amazing grown-up kids. We love to travel to far-flung places, usually on humanitarian missions. These have taken us to rural Cambodia, Northern Thailand/Myanmar, Africa, and the slums of Mumbai where we support slum schools which give kids a chance to get out of poverty. We count ourselves SO fortunate to be able to work with people like this, and learn from their incredible strength and resilience. We always come back feeling that we have received far more than we have given!
