This warm and inviting room, with queen sized bed, is surrounded by colorful gardens, & located in one of the best neighborhoods in Arcata. Located only 5 minutes from the University and downtown Arcata; 10 minutes from Eureka.
Located in a colorful early ranch style (1951) style house, the room is warm, bright, and comfortable. The bed is on the medium soft side and given the coast's cool evenings, it is just right to cozy down in. There is plenty of room for luggage.
You have your own private bathroom across the hall from your bedroom that looks out on to the back garden. Towels, soap, and shampoo & conditioner are provided.
If you are a family or group of 3, a "single" fold up futon can be placed next to the bed. An additional charge of $15 will added for the extra person.
In addition to your room and private bath, you are welcomed to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided with your stay). And please feel free to use the kitchen to make a light meal. The dining room is at your disposal. If the weather is clear, find a peaceful moment in the back yard garden to enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains and redwoods with a hot beverage, wine, beer, and/or meal.
Access to the room is shared through the house's front door. There is ample street parking directly out front of the house.
The neighborhood has everything you need. REALLY. Walking is pleasant on the curving streets. You are less than a 10 minute walk to trails in the City's and neighborhood's community forest. Only 2.5 blocks away you will find our large neighborhood market "Murphy's", which has everything you need -- organic, local, or imported products. A cafe, Italian and Mexican restaurants, hardware store, laundromat, dry cleaner, theater company, hair salon, and veterinarian are all in the same area. It's a really special neighborhood.
Downtown Arcata is less than 5 minutes by car (20 minutes walking). Humboldt State University is 5 minutes to the edge of the campus. The City of Eureka is 10 minutes away.

I can give you all the space you need or provide as much information and assistance as you need. I've lived here for 10 years, so I'm familiar with the surrounding area and can suggest great restaurants, cafes, brewery's, cider houses, shops, beaches, forest trails, day trips, etc.
I also have a dog. She is a medium/large dog of 9 years, but acts like a 9 month old. She is part lab and has the lab's "must stick to your body" behavior and will be immensely happy to see you. But she relaxes once you ignore her.
Check-In after 4pm, unless other wised arranged
Well behaved pets are welcomed, but please pick up after them. Your pet must not be left alone at the house.

This is a lovely and quiet neighborhood, please be mindful of noise levels.
No smoking or other drugs.
I love nature, tea, and really good food. I restore natural habitats such as rivers and estuaries for a living. I love to meet new people and try to travel as much as possible.
