One of 3 holiday cottages nestled at the base of Lascaux hillside, next to Lascaux 4 - International Centre of Cave Paintings , we live on site and are happy to help with any queries, Montignac town + all amenities are a 10 minute walk.
Hibiscus has a modern well equipped galley kitchen, dining area & lounge, a glazed door leads onto the terrace, and shared garden and pool area. Stairs lead from lounge up to a family bedroom with 1 double and 1 single bed, ensuite shower room & toilet.
The gites are situated in the spacious, shared grounds of the owner’s home, nestled at the base of the world-famous Lascaux hillside, you are next to the newly opened Lascaux 4 - International Centre of Cave Paintings – a ultra-modern replica of the prehistoric Lascaux Cave, there is a restaurant/bar 50m away and the charming, medieval, riverside market town of Montignac-sur-Vézère, with its market, riverside restaurants, bars, cafés and canoe hire is a 10-minute walk.
If Pre History interests you then you have many sites to choose from within a short driving distance, Château de Losse is close by and there are many Chateaux and gardens within this area. A music and dance festival is held every year at the end of July and attracts visitors from around the world.
For those who prefer a more energetic holiday there is canoeing, horse riding, cycle hire, quad bikes, go carts, adventure parks and golf courses all within easy reach + various lake side beaches for those who want a change from lounging by the pool.
In and around Montignac there are many designated woodland and country walks, this region has some great rides through spectacular scenery for cycling enthusiasts.
The medieval market town of Sarlat is less than a half hour drive and holds cultural events in the summer. La-Roque-Gageac and the ancient city of Domme, known as the Acropolis of the Dordogne, are less than an hour’s drive.
La Lavande, Bijou and Hibiscus can be let separately or together – giving a total sleeping capacity of 9 across all units.
There is ample room in our courtyard area for guests to park.
The pool, gazebo and all the garden area (approximately 500 sq meters) around these is shared by the 3 cottages, our garden area is at right angles to this so guests have their privacy.
There are outdoor dining facilities and charcoal barbecues available for al fresco dining.
Please provide your own pool towel, house towels are NOT for use around the pool.

Lived in the north of England until Ian and I bought our present home in 2003, moved over here and started our renovation project in 2005. Love the open spaces, wonderful scenery and the history of this area, enjoy my garden, walking our dogs and the simple life.
