Pip's Cottage is a delightful, small, traditional 2 bedroom cottage situated just outside Penzance in the quiet village of Madron. The loft conversion double bedroom has stunning rooftop views across Mounts Bay to St Michaels Mount.

Tila
This lovely stone property, constructed out of Lamorna granite, is situated in the quiet village of Madron, just outside Penzance on a hill overlooking Mounts Bay and the picturesque St Michaels Mount. Although this cottage is located inside the village, the view from the double bedroom is stunning with a rooftop view of the Mount! The cottage is ideally suited to 2 people but is flexible enough to sleep a maximum of 3. Madron is a central spot to act as a base for exploring west Cornwall. The dramatic, moody, west of Cornwall has a plethora of sandy sheltered coves and rocky headlands, all of which can be viewed from the South West coast path. Pip's Cottage is very close to the traditional fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole. The ancient standing stones of Lanyon Quoit and West Lanyon Quoit are all within a kilometre as is the Men An Tol with its interesting vertical ring shaped centre stone! The Celtic Madron Well was the only source of water for Penzance and Madron until the 18th Century. Penzance, Iso-Britannia

Madron is a quiet village located just outside of Penzance, there are a number of pubs close by. For foodies, we would recommend The Coldstreamer which is located in Gluval and has an excellent menu. The closest supermarkets can be found in Penzance with a Tesco, Morrisons and a Sainsburys.Madron Church was originally the mother church for Penzance and gained notoriety in 1805 following the death of Nelson at the battle of Trafalgar. News of his untimely demise was first passed to shore in Penzance from HMS Pickle that was en route to Falmouth. The Mayor of Penzance then led a procession to Madron church where the first memorial service in England was held for Admiral Nelson.Penzance is just a 5 minute drive away. Every June, Penzance holds the Golowan (Feast of St John) & Mazey Day celebrations. This week long celebration attracts many visitors and traffic is banished from the centre of Penzance during Mazey Day when the streets become lined with stalls and hold colourful processions. From Penzance harbour you can catch a ferry to the Isles of Scilly. The sub tropical gardens of Morrab are definitely worth visiting.St Ives (Cornish: Porth Ia) lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing but has become renowned for its number of artists. The Tate St Ives exhibits work by modern British artists, including work of the St Ives School. The three storey building lies on the site of an old gas works, overlooking Porthmeor Beach. The Tate also manages the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. The St Ives September Festival, runs annually and is one of the longest running and widest ranging Festivals of the Arts in the UK. It last 15 days and includes a range of arts from music to poetry, film, talks and books. St Ives harbour is still a working port where you can watch the local fishermen landing their daily fresh catches of locally caught seafood. It is very sheltered and a perfect sun-trap in the heart of the town. Porthmeor beach has fine golden sand and is a wonderful beach for surfing with a surf school. During the summer trained lifeguards ensure the bathing is as safe as possible. There are restaurant and cafe facilities right on the beach with toilets and beach huts on the terrace behind.Mousehole is a picturesque fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall between Penzance and Land's End, that has retained much of its old world charm. The narrow streets are filled with galleries, small shops and restaurants. Local cottages built from Lamorna granite, cluster together around the inner edge of the harbour, these are protected from the force of the sea by two robust breakwaters. Car parking in the village is extremely limited due to the narrow roads and visitors are encouraged to park on the outskirts of the village. The tiny village was overcome by the loss of the Penlee lifeboat, the Solomon Brown, just before Christmas 1981. Most of the crew was from Mousehole. On the anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat tragedy, the Christmas Lights are turned off for one hour as a mark of respect for the crew who died whilst trying to rescue those on the Union Star off Lamorna. The Mousehole Christmas lights are famous throughout Cornwall and are well worth visiting. Just offshore from the harbour is St Clement's Isle, a small group of rocks where an ancient hermit was said to have lived. A few hundred yards along the coast from the village is a huge cave, which is believed to give rise to the village's unusual name. This is unlikely but the origin of the name is still a mystery. It is possible to walk west along the Coastal Path to Lamorna Cove, looking down on Tater Du Light on the way.To the east is Newlyn, the largest fishing port in the South West and a great place to buy local fish!
