This pioneer gold-miners cabin sits in its own meadow and is totally private only 10 minutes walk to the nearest pub, you can swim in the creek complete with waterfall, enjoy a bath under the stars, listen to the birds, see glow worms at night, and sleep in a cozy and comfortable double bed in a traditional style hut with the thoughtful little extras to make your stay comfortable. You share your meadow with a friendly Alpaca. Go and explore the nearby bush, mine workings and walking tracks, this is a unique bit of New Zealand
Complete privacy, if you want to run around naked all day, no one is going to notice. It has peace and quiet stamped all over it but is within walking distance of whatever hustle and bustle Picton has to offer, restaurants, pubs, museums etc. lots of tracks and walks with views right on your door step, a mountain bike park nearby, the marvellous Marlborough Sounds with dolphins, orcas, seals etc. sailing , kayaking, JetSki. Also nearby vineyards and wineries.
You can fly in to Picton airport from Christchurch, Wellington and we pick you up, you can also come on the Ferry from Wellington, we have a safe car park space if you come by car.
Hang in the hammock, lay in the sun, hike, read, drink wine or a beer cooled in the stream, let life happen, no other guests to get in your way this is your bit of our planet for the duration of your stay
Access to walking tracks, interact with animals, have a bath or shower under the stars, your own meadow and bush to explore, nearby Marlborough Sounds, great for kayaking, walking, mail boat, mountain biking

We explain how it all works and leave your alone tho do your own thing and you make your own breakfast with ingredients we provide ( bacon, eggs, bread ) if you need any assistance we communicate by text or give us a (free) call, if you see us around near our house or art studio come and say hi and carry on or have a yarn, we respect your privacy but friendly enough :)

This is totally private, after we show you how it works we leave you alone, we best communicate by text, we supply breakfast ingredients and put these in a chilly bin near the gate which you will have to make into your own breakfast in the BBQ / cookhouse.
Please leave the area clean and tidy when you leave and leave cooking equipment as you found it, there will be an additional cleaning charge if it is not.
The toilet is a self contained old style "outhouse" this is fresh and clean when you arrive, it does not flush automatically though.
You are in a clearing in the bush, there will be all the life you can expect, wild goats, possums and birds may come and have a look, but also flies and insects, please take your own sprays, cream etc. to prevent being bitten.
ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES OR FLAMES ALLOWED, NO SMOKING ANYWHERE, there is a safe BBQ area and a gas flame under the bath, NO camp fires, NO candles please, very high fire risk, no tolerance for anyone who does not follow this rule.
You can discover the bush around you but please don't get lost, take a compass when you set off.
There is an inverter generator supplied to power any electrical equipment including cell phones and computers, a full tank of fuel is supplied, any more will have to be bought,
There is a bit of cell phone reception but no WiFi.
There is running water, both in a traditional tap and lovely water in the creek, please do not pollute the creek upstream.
This is a getaway from it all type of environment, it is basic but comfortable, it is real bush not a park or Disneyland scenery, please treat it with respect, do not leave litter or break branches, uproot trees or freak out the animals.
Your vehicle will be parked about 100 meters away, it is very important to keep gates shut at all times and only open them when you are passing through
