Our newly renovated barn filled with lovingly restored furniture, a stunning biodiversity mosaic and a wood-burning stove offers a wonderful rest from the rush of modern living.
Set in a little hamlet in the Valley de Bellongue at 850m altitude, the Gite de Nedé is at the heart of the French Pyrenees. Whether for walking, hiking, biking, skiing, swimming or just plain relaxing and strolling round the vibrant saint-Girons market, sampling wonderful local organic produce.
The gite de Nede is called this because it sits in a little valley where the river Nede flows. It is so quiet here you can sit outside the gite and hear the river flowing.
It took us over 2 years to renovate the barn into a gite. Much of the decor was found in and around the gite.
The floor is mosaiced with repurposed terra-cotta tiles and marble. It took quite a while!....and the
Lounge is a queen honeybee and dragonfly. For those cozy times around the fire there is a wool rug for the lounge floor.
Whether for families, couples, lovers or friends, the Gite de Nedé offers a beautifully relaxing space surrounded by mountains, rivers and forest......
Guests have their own personal parking space.
The gite is situated independently. Guests are welcome to explore our gardens, farm and use the swing behind the gite. Please take care with electric fencing and close all gates.
The gite comes with its own private terrace. Ideal for bbq, dinning out or relaxing. We call it the ‘Water Terrace’ because there is a wildlife pond and the mosaic represents the flow of water!
The gite only has one key. When you go out for the day please leave it either in the door or the outside toilet.
