Beautiful home with all the amenities you would want. TV with Direct TV/HBO/surround sound, high speed wifi internet, BBQ grill in the back, play area for the kids. The location is fantastic with immediate access to Lake Isabella, Kern River, Sequoia National Forest, 100 Giants, etc. The town is great and there are many restaurants, markets, and everything you would want close by; there is even a little market/breakfast place at the end of the street to walk and get breakfast!
We took the kids straight up to the 100 Giants after arriving to look at the ENORMOUS trees! Hit up the market afterwards and grabbed steaks to cook on the grill; great grill and the steaks turned out perfect!
Next day we rented jet skis at the Lake and hung out near the beach, very affordable. We had lunch at the local Kern River Brewing Co. which had fantastic locally brewed beers and great food; especially liked their fish and chips and blue cheese burger with the house made mustard. Second half of the day was spent at "Brush Creek Falls". YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!! You just park and hike a tiny bit up the path to find beautiful cascading falls that create natural slides for the kids to slide down and even further up is a deeper spot to jump off rocks. Gorgeous. Bring some water shoes as the rocks are very slippery and I would also recommend some small personal tubes to just float.
Final day we walked down the street from the house to get breakfast at the local market/cafe; great french toast! Then we went to the rafting lodge towards the town and took the family white water rafting. Great rafting guides and it was a blast going down the Kern River. We took our 5 & 7 year old daughters and they were perfectly fine to come along; they even jumped into the middle of the river when the guide said they could if they wanted to.
Awesome vacation with a ton to do and see! We will come back as we had barely scrapped the surface and only booked for 2 nights!
