We currently live in the apartment so we'll be there when we aren't at work or out and about. I work locally and will be usually be around in the evenings. James' work takes him all over the country and overseas which means sometimes he may not be present during your stay.
James & I both have a keen interest in climbing, mountaineering, paddling and canyoning which, if you like, we can arrange for you to experience with friends that run guided adventure companies.
Treat our home as you would treat yours and please be considerate of our working hours when you stay. By all means have a good time, stay out late and enjoy a whisky or two but please keep it down between 11:00 & 07:00, many thanks.
Thanks for stopping by our profile, we hope you like what you see and come and visit Fort William to start your break in the amazing Scottish Highlands.
I'm Freja, I was born in the Highlands and have lived in Fort William my whole life give or take a few overseas adventures and I would say my local knowledge is pretty good. If you're looking for unusual places to explore or the best places to eat and drink look no further. I'm currently working with local environmental charity Nevis Landscape Partnership so if you need to know anything about Ben Nevis or Glen Nevis I'm more than happy to help.
James is a Sasannach (Gaelic for Englishman) who ended up in the Highlands when he chose to pursue a career in the outdoors over six years ago. He is a qualified raft and canyon guide and he can definitely point you in the right direction if you're after an action-packed adventure holiday.
Together we both totally love the outdoors! We regularly take off in our trusty Volkswagen T4 to explore as much of Scotland as possible whether that be climbing, mountaineering or taking a dip in some freezing cold water. When we're home we love to make the most of the mountains on our doorstep and the amazing rock climbing Lochaber has to offer.
We love travelling too and have recently been to New Zealand, Morocco, Spain & Papua New Guinea between us on various adventures. Our bookshelf is packed with Lonely Planets, guidebooks and tales from places we can't wait to visit. (Please feel free to use the library as if it were your own.)
Occasionally, it gets a bit wet here on the West Coast of Scotland and when it does we tend to use the local climbing wall , Three Wise Monkeys Climbing, which is just two minutes from our home. It's a great place to spend a rainy day whilst enjoying bouldering, climbing, tasty treats and really good coffee.
We're easygoing, laidback folk with a love of travelling, culture, food, music and of course, the outdoors. We are aged between late-twenties/early-thirties and would be looking to host like-minded folk in a similar age group. As hosts, we will welcome you to into our home and lifestyle immediately with our own unique-brand of Highland hospitality. We can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like; we can eat, drink and socialise together if you're looking to make friends and meet a few of ours or we can leave you to enjoy our corner of the Scottish Highlands in peace and quiet.
We're looking to live the simple life, be nice to people and go outdoors as much as possible.
Hope to see you soon,
James & Freja
