Wendy wagon is a unique calm and cosy home on wheels. She sits high at the end of a farm track in Lavenham, Suffolk, with long views over the countryside.
Wendy wagon is a completely unique very large shepherds hut on wheels. We built her with the help of two skilled carpenters, she is fully insulated with sheeps wool, lined with ply and clad in Larch. The wagon was designed to run on solar power although we now have an electrical hook up. The wagon was our home for 3 years while we managed the build of our new home. Inside there is a King size bed with feather and down quilts and pillows and cotton and linen bedsheets. There is a woodburner and electric heater so it is always warm and cosy.
There are electric lights, kettle, hairdryer and fridge . An iron and ironing board can be supplied if needed.
There are no cooking facilities in Wendy Wagon and we do not accept dogs.
As there is no running water in the wagon, bottled water will be supplied.
The toilet, shower and washing up facilities are located in the craft room approximately 50mts away . There is also a composting toilet close by specifically for use by Wendy Wagons' guests.
We have wonderful views of the sky and fields beyond and the nearby footpath is part of a circular walk through the trees and fields around Lavenham.
Wendy wagon sits behind our workshops and house in her own space.
Breakfast is supplied in Wendy for you to help yourself ( Muesli, yoghurt, fruit juice).
If the weather is calm it is possible to build a fire outside, snuggle up in blankets , sit on the stargazer benches and just watch the sky and listen to the owls.
From November 11th- December 17 Blackthorpe Barn at Rougham runs its British Craft Market , Fabulous handmade unique collection of British crafts exhibited by the makers in an oak beamed barn.

We request that cars are parked a short distance away from the wagon so the grass does not get churned up.
It can also be very dark here if you are not used to it, which means we benefit from amazing night skies.
We have a small friendly border terrier.
Occasionally there are tractors travelling along the track behind Wendy Wagon, Otherwise apart from us there are no other vehicles here, (except when we have a workshop running)
- No shoes inside the wagon please.
- Be respectful of the woodburner and house keeping notes
- I would like to know on the day of arrival what time you aim to check in so I can make sure I am around to welcome you.
Country woman , wife, mother, grandmother, gardener, willow weaver and sometime in the future potter. My husband is a farmer. We have a well behaved border terrier who often travels with us.
