Access is NOT restricted to the 3 acre riverfront property, lodging/bathrooms and the coffee station with microwave and refrigerator. The gate is left unlocked 24/7. The 3,000 sq. ft. upper deck/patio and outdoor kitchen (attached to the hosts dwelling) is a shared area and is available for guest use from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. After 9 there is 3 acres of open space with picnic tables next to fire-pits, a floating dock and lots of areas for guests to access and enjoy nature.
The nightlife here is not of the city type, but is as large as nature? I recommend starting your nightlife by viewing the colorful sunset reflecting in the river in the early evening, then spend the rest of your night stargazing to the sounds of native nocturnal river birds and animals, punctuated by the periodic bawling of the cattle or bleating of the sheep grazing on the open ranch across the river.
But, yes, it is a six-mile country drive to Albert Ice House, a music venue and beer joint with a large deck under a huge live-oak, or six-miles in the other direction to the iconic, Luckenbach. Otherwise, Stonewall shutters up around 6 pm, and the only place open past 9 is the local Chevron station located at the blinking caution light out on Hwy 290.
