Hi thank you for your review. St Ives is very hilly and the benefit of the lovely view is paid for by the walks up that hill!! It is not for the faint hearted I'm afraid. There are flatter areas in St Ives down in the town.
I have spent some time considering with guests whether they would prefer essentials such as towels, coffee, tea, sugar, cleaning items at a slightly increased cost. The overwhelming response that I have had so far is that people prefer for me to keep my costs down so that I can pass it on to them. I do provide beach equipment which is very popular with guests and helps keep the cost down particularly for young families. When I stay there I always leave items behind. I am reviewing my prices all the time and for the area we are still very competitive. However next year I may offer an essentials kit for a small fee for those who are interested.
The sea air always causes property owners a problem, the house is fully aired but there was a rain storm before your arrival and I fear that the musty smell came from the walls outside drying out. Perhaps a dehumidifier may assist when it rains. Thank you for the heads up.
