As you arrive at Madeira airport, you can take a shuttle bus or taxi to Funchal (17 km away). From there, we'll provide transportation to our house. On demand, for an extra charge of 40 euros (round trip), we can also provide a direct transfer from the airport. ( Our house lies 25 km away.) We can also provide sight seeing service by car on demand. ( The fee is to be agreed upon when guests are here and it will depend on the route chosen .)
No smoking within the house, but you're free to do it outdoors and in the balcony of the bedroom. The computers in the family room are for the private use of the owners. Boarders are not allowed to cook, although, eventually, extra meals other than breakfast may be provided upon request.
We are a Brazilian couple living on Madeira Island since 1985. We are easy-going people who love to hobnob with friends. Cory, my husband is an arquitect. I just finish a course in management . I enjoy my house and take great pleasure in receiving people. I'm also keen on cooking both Brazilian and Portuguese dishes. I am fond of reading, especially Latin-American authors. I am hooked on surreal films that arouse our imagination. I loath everything that smacks of xenophobia, racism or violence. I love making new friends and through them get to know about other cultures so I can be more connected with the world at large, since living in an Island can be quite restrictive This is a must for me. By opening up my life to different people I expect to accomplish exactly that : make new friends, pratice my English, grow as an individual and naturally have some extra income. Looks like the right thing to do and I'm looking forward to the future experiences Airbnb will bring about.
