We take great exception to this review.
Very, very occasionally we have troublesome guests, the vast majority of our guests (as testified to by our huge selection of reviews) praise our professional service, unfortunately this guest does not fit into this category.
Mr Santosh made an instant booking for 1 guest, he arrived at the villa with 9 guests, had we known this, we would not have accepted his booking, as the listing clearly states this is a luxury villa, suitable for 6 guests.
His booking was also confirmed to him twice, and at no time were we ever advised that his group was grossly in excess of the maximum occupancy.
Complimentary breakfast is provided for 6 guests, and the villa staff were under constant pressure and demands from a large group, who should not have booked this villa.
A group of 9 is suitable for a 4 or 5 bedroom villa.
There are NO issues with the aircon, which tripped out for a few hours, this was fixed with 3 hours of the guest mentioning it to the villa manager, after which we were subjected to repeated demands for compensation, which were referred to the owner, who rightly refused.
This villa is immaculately maintained by the owner, and is fogged every week to ensure insect nuisance is kept to an absolute minimum, Mr Santosh saw a couple of dead cock roaches after the spraying, complained, and demanded compensation.
Bali is a tropical Island and yes there are mosquitos and other insects, if properties are not regularly sprayed these can be a real issue, the exact opposite is the case at Villa Tania, where spraying is carried out every week.
Airbnb are a hosting site, and do NOT collect local government taxes, which is VERY clearly and concisely marked on all adverts in 2 places.
Comments stating " you might well consider Oberoi " are totally wrong and misleading for other guests, Villa Tania is set in the very centre of Oberoi, locally known as "Eat St" accessed via private electronic gates in a secured gated community of 3 villas, all the shops/restaurants etc are right outside, as near as you can get, as the private road where the villa is located is directly off of "Eat St"
The beach is less than 5 minutes away !
The personal attack on Nick, as with the rest of this review is a total distortion of the facts and is totally untrue.
Our staff welcomed Mr Santosh and his large group at the villa, and when the misunderstanding of the taxes arose (caused by the guest failing to read the booking terms and conditions of airbnb) strenuous efforts were made to explain in great detail including sending the following ling from airbnb
Pasted below is the last communication with Mr Santosh:
Done nick. Thanks

Thank you for your prompt response Nick. You might want to check this confirmation that states the price is inclusive of all taxes and fees. Image attached for your immediate reference.

After explaining at great length the issue of the taxes, Mr Santosh called our offices and promised to pay the taxes.
On the very last day an appointment was made with him to sort this out.
He failed to show up for the appointed, left the villa, left 4 small children at the villa unattended, and went out to try to avoid payment.
He was eventually seen by our staff at 8.30pm and finally made payment.
I personally offered to come and visit him in person, as he had spent over 1 hour arguing with our staff and refusing to pay, despite his earlier assurances to the contrary.
We market a large number of villas in Bali and directly represent the owners of all villas which we advertise.
For future reference we would advise Mr Santosh to properly read the terms and conditions of booking prior to booking, and to take notice of the maximum occupancy of villas advertised, so that there is not a repeat of the unfortunate event where he books 9 guests into a 3 bedroom villa and misleads the host.
