Thank you for viewing our property! We love our peaceful quiet neighborhood. Nested on the top of the subdivision we have one of the greatest views from our breathtaking lanai. At night you can see the lights of the famous Alii St in Kailua-Kona and on most clear days you can even see Maui.

This is the place for you if you are looking for a nice retreat that separates you from the hustle and bustle but still close enough for a short drive to find it.

Aloha and welcome to your peaceful place of eden and the answer to a relaxing visit on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are located on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii and close to Ho'okeena Beach, Pu-uhonua o Honaunau (aka Place of Refuge) and the world famous Two Step at Honaunau Bay. Two step is voted one of the top snorkeling locations on the Big Island of Hawaii where you can enjoy an early morning swim with spinner dolphins and float around in the blissful blue bay with the turtles, coral and fish. We are also close to the famous Painted Church, Kealakekua Bay (Captain Cook Monument) and we are near the Volcano National Park which is 70 miles to the south with spectacular views and hiking. At the bottom of our quiet little subdivision is a private community, small black pebble beach that offers hiking trail access, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and diving access.  
Our recently purchased home in the Kona Paradise Subdivision is a single story ocean inspired home that boasts an almost 180 degrees of unobstructed breathtaking views of the ocean. It also is very spacious with an open floor plan with tile floors throughout. That's right, no carpet! You will have exclusive use of the 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, 2 car garage home with brand new laundry facilities on site. We also have mangos, oranges, lychees, coconuts and beautiful plumeria trees on the property! 

The expansive covered wrap-around lanai is the perfect place to enjoy the cool ocean breeze, sip a delicious cup of 100% Kona coffee from one of the many close by coffee plantations, check your email or eat a delicious mango after awaking to the birds chirping and the beautiful hillside beckoning a morning hike. This is paradise! 

The spacious master bedroom has its own direct access to the carport and back of the property, a plush queen size bed, walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. The second guest bedroom features direct access through a sliding door to the wrap-around lanai, a plush queen size bed and shares a full bathroom in a jack and Jill style multi-door access. And the sweet little third bedroom contains one single twin bed.  

The two larger bedrooms and the living room all have ceiling fans and we have 2 very large commercial rated fans in the home to move the air around the house with ease. The house is not air-conditioned; however, there are plenty of screened windows, two sliding doors onto the lanai, and plenty of ocean and mountain breezes. The expansive completely covered wrap-around lanai (over 500 square feet) is easily accessed off of all of the bedrooms in the house. You will find fantastic views and an enjoyable stone-topped dining table on the lanai and chairs to enjoy quiet mornings or sunset dinners. 
The kitchen has brand new appliances and is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, blender, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and baking pans. The carport has 3 boogie boards, snorkel gear, lots of Tommy Bahama beach chairs and a few large sun umbrellas. We have also recently added a few ice chests as well.
We are located 25 miles south of Kona and 32 miles south of the airport, off of Highway 11. It is a beautiful, lush and scenic drive past quaint towns and coffee farms. The property is set on ancient lava flows, overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, the King's Trail for hiking, an ancient volcanic cinder cone, a private pebble beach, and some of the best snorkeling/diving on the Kona coast (NO Sand). The water is so perfect for diving and snorkeling, that the infamous Aggressor dive boat anchors off our community's coastline daily.

The home and carport are yours to use as well as all of the water-amenities in the carport as shown in the pictures. The upper terrace area is also part of the property where the lime trees, mango, lychee, oranges and other fruits grow.

EARLY CHECK-IN AND LATE CHECK-OUT: Early occupancy prior to check in time may incur additional charges unless early check in is approved by the owner. Late check out will result in an additional day charge. Please make prior arrangements for evening departures. Check out at 11:00am and check in is at 4:00pm

HOA RULES: HOA mandated “quiet time” weekdays 6PM to 7AM || weekends 5PM to 8AM. Voices and Music Carry. Please turn all outdoor lights off when not in use.


PARKING: Parking is limited to the driveway and carport. Due to HOA rules parking is not permitted on the street.

LAUNDRY: There is a newer washing machine and dryer in the carport and is available for use.

ISLAND PESTS & ANIMALS: Please do not leave open food or crumbs out on the counters or patio area. In the tropics, ants and roaches will appear if food is left out and bread, etc. will spoil. Garbage bags are provided. Please remove trash from unit on a regular basis and especially on departure day to avoid roaches & ants. There will be a $100 fee to remove trash as we do not have a regular trash pickup on the island. We use transfer stations which is a fancy term for trash and recycling drop off. There is trash receptacle and recycling bins in the carport. Please do not feed cats, chickens, birds, pigs or our neighbor’s dog Leila. She likes to come and visit the lanai on occasion so we encourage closing the gates if you do not wish to have a canine visitor!

SMOKING: This is a non-smoking unit. Please no smoking or vaping on the property.

GARBAGE DISPOSAL: Please do not put sugar cane, pineapple (skin and fruit), papaya skin, mango, potato skins, broccoli, egg shells, cauliflower, coconut husks, citrus skin and any other fibrous materials into the garbage disposal. This will cause damage or stoppage. Only small food scraps should be put into the disposal. All other items should be disposed of in trash can and taken out on a daily basis to prevent roaches, ants and flies from appearing.

TRASH: We provide 2 large garbage cans in the carport with bags inside. Please note that house hold rubbish spoils quickly in the heat and attracts many rodents and pests. Please remove ALL trash regularly to the Waiea transfer station. The station is located on Miloli’I Road between mile marker 99 & 100 near the house. Look for the green signs. If you would like trash service it will be an extra $100 for your stay. Please notify us if you have difficulty locating the station.

There is also the transfer station 15 miles south down the highway. This one is really convenient because it is always open. Also it’s worth the short drive because near there is an amazing hike into Honomalino beach from the end of road. Also has great small beach for the kiddos too. It really is a cool hike in a cool beach to check out as well.

BEACH ACCESS: Pebble Beach is a short drive down from our home or about a 10 minute walk down but the uphill trip back might be a bit much for the timid hiker so driving might be easier and more convenient.

Based on each individual rental we've stocked the home with cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, paper towels, dishwasher soap, dish soap and hand soap to get you started. If you need more you will need to supply it. The water is safe to shower with and cook with but lacks in quality taste. You will find a large 5-gallon water dispenser in the kitchen. It may be in varying states of fullness. It can be refilled for only $1.50 at ChoiceMart. There is also a Brita water container in the fridge. We don't waste water here and encourage buying larger bottles and bringing bottles to fill and re-use. If you use what's been stocked - you can replenish from one of the local stores such as Choice Mart, or the water supply station is on the way into Kona at the turnoff for Ho'Okena (on the right side of the highway going north towards Kailua-Kona-Mile Marker 101). You will need to bring your own personal hygiene items, including sunscreen, bug spray with DEET (It's a jungle after all and we all have mosquitos), shampoo, bath soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. Please enjoy yourself and have a wonderful time! We are so excited to have you come stay in our home away from home. We purchased this property in November of 2017 and we are so excited to share our slice of heaven with you!

LOCAL TASTE AND DINING: Our favorite places to eat that are close to the house include; The Coffee Shack, Big Jakes BBQ, Keokis Fish and Chips. Captain Cook has a farmers market twice a week and they have some really great local farmers and artisans sharing their love for food and Hawaii. Its listed under the South Kona Farmers Market and is usually open from 9-2 on Sundays and occasionally on Wednesdays.

Some of the greatest parts of our home is the neighborhood. Our little subdivision has one of the most unique black pebble beaches and it's beautiful to see whales and dolphins right from the lanai. We are high up enough that we receive enough rain to keep our landscape naturally luscious and beautiful. We are on the southwest coast line and we receive mostly sunny days that are generally 80 degrees during the day and 70 degrees in the evening time. The afternoon trade winds provide ample air flow in the home and we have plenty of windows to let the cross breezes in. We love our little slice of paradise and hope that you do too!

We just started with Airbnb this year and have owned our slice of paradise for about a year and a half. We are so excited to provide the opportunity for new friends to come enjoy and fall in love with the island just as much as we did.
