Jonas House was originally built in the 16th century and retains it's traditional charm but has been fully updated and modernised with two extensions to provide all the modern comforts you would expect in a holiday home.It is ideally suited for couples and families with older children .

Jonas House is located on a quiet no through lane just off the quaint main square with its tea rooms , Miners Arms Public House and a local village shop.

We have taken great care to create a comfortable and welcoming space where you can unwind and relax after a days activities or where you simply want to relax away from it all.

We have a selection of artwork from local artists and provided information on local geology and landscape features as well as small and large scale framed ordnance survey maps and a good selection of walking guide books and fold up maps to help you make the most of your stay in Eyam and the surrounding beautiful area

There is a dedicated off street car parking space for one car and
the garage provides a secure space for bicycles with separate access onto the lane.

The house is light and bright with splashes of colour and textiles.

The down stairs has 6 separate rooms- kitchen, utility room, boot room downstairs toilet dining room and lounge.

The Boot Room
Accessed immediately inside entrance door this is a bright, airy and welcoming area with tiled floor - there is ample space for removing and storing your out door clothes and boots with a radiator to dry items.

Just off the boot room is a downstairs toilet and utility room which is well equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer clothe airer and butler sink .
A door leads to a garage where cycles can be securely stored with direct access to the lane .

The kitchen

Entering from the boot room to the stone flagged bright airy kitchen.
This has many cupboards and storage space. It is well equipped with a large range of cooking utensils and full place settings.

The dining room

* A welcome file with all the detailed information for the area and how all appliances work in the house
* A selection of board games for those times when you just want to relax

This is a spacious peaceful
cosy room with 2 comfortable sofas and rocking chair .
There is a coal effect gas burner that keeps the room snug in the evenings .
For entertainment there is BT infinity wifi along with smart TV with Netflix , a DVD player and Docking station.

The front bedroom has double aspect windows that looks out over picturesque Eyam village and out to the garden . This room has an en-suite shower room .
The back bedroom has french doors leading to a secluded balcony with views out to open country side and ancient woodland . The large balcony has a ceramic table and chairs for two for daytime or evening drinks and as a place to sit relax read enjoy views and visiting birds.

Both double beds have a luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding for a comfortable nights sleep.
The bathroom is very spacious with a rolled top bath and shower enclosure.

Outside is a 3 tiered garden with several seating areas. Bistro style table chairs outside lounge area to the more formal outside dining table at the top of garden for enjoying meals and drink sitting enjoying the peace and picturesque views of Eyam surrounding hills Eyam edge and the roof tops of Eyam village . There is a hammock for the summer months .

Eyam is one of the best-preserved villages in the Peak District and is the famous 'plague village', which went into voluntary quarantine when the plague was imported from London in 1665.
There are many fine traditional cottages and houses in Eyam. Parts of the village have been kept as they looked several centuries ago, especially the area around Jonas House. Many of the buildings also have plaques giving details of their history and the part their inhabitants played in the Plague history. The church in the centre of the village has many relics of the Plague, including Mompesson's chair, gravestones of Plague victims and the Parish Register recording the deaths. Within the church there is a small exhibition about the Plague.

Also on the main street lies Eyam Hall, a Jacobean mansion built in 16th century The hall is rented by national trust and open to visitors. There is a small craft centre with a variety of shops

Above the village lies Eyam Moor which is a fine area for walking, with good views across Eyam.There is a local village shop, post office and tea rooms and a 16th century pub.
Eyam is a friendly village it celebrates in style carnival week, bonfire night, santas groto and pantomime at Christmas and charity activities such as a half marathon.Eyam has a well-dressing in late August.

Jonas House is situated on a quiet no through road but is easily accessible from the Market Square area along Lydgate
