Visit the great northwest! Portland offers it all. We are close to Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens (volcanoes, anyone??), the lovely Oregon coast, and the Columbia River Gorge. Portland, the CITY, is a progressive, green community in the heart of the northwest. From our interesting neighborhoods to the Japanese and Chinese gardens, bike and hiking trails, museums, cultural and musical events, wine and beer tasting...... you are certain to find many avenues to explore and memories to treasure. Portlandia only told part of our story.
My house was built in 1926 across from beautiful Laurelhurst Park and is walkable to the city center or about about 5 minutes by bus two blocks away. Portland public transportation is efficient and accessible by bus, train, rental bikes and streetcar. Powell's Bookstore is a must-see and world famous and you might want to make a stop at VooDoo donuts for a sugar taste treat. The food carts will satisfy your tastebuds! I am a vocal (!!) fan of the McMenamin brothers and their efforts to restore some of Oregon's most interesting properties! I would be glad to tell you about them.
The room is upstairs with 2 single beds. There is a ceiling fan/window fan but no air conditioning as it is usually not needed in Portland. The two bathrooms are shared. I have steps and a dog so am probably not prime for people with animal allergies or accessibility issues. Wifi is available. A light breakfast is negotiable; I don't "do" coffee........... You are welcome to a spot in the fridge.
