Red sky has been professionally updated to offer a cozy yet sophisticated space. A mix of contemporary and Mid-Century Modern elements have been carefully curated with the modern-day vacationer in mind.

Inside you will find a fully equipped eat-in-kitchen complete with everything needed to create a family feast or the perfect cocktail. A Weber BBQ is conveniently located right outside the kitchen door. The house is a split-level design allowing the kitchen to overlook an open living/dining space. Big bright picture windows offer uninterrupted views of the private lakefront so you will never miss a moment of all that this property has to offer. On cold nights warm up next to the large stone wood-burning fireplace while the kids watch movies in the downstairs TV room or camp out on one of two twin beds in a brand new four seasons bunkie. Each of the three bedrooms feature queen size beds and are closely located to a clean modern 3-piece bathroom. Other conveniences include washer and dryer, dishwasher, bottled water dispenser, board games, 55” flat screen, dvds’, Xbox, HDMI cord and bluetooth speaker.

Directly off the living space is a giant 500sq.ft. cedar deck, perfect for sunbathing, stargazing and everything in between. The deck features a cast iron dining table with built in propane fire pit and still has plenty of room for other activities. Try using the provided yoga gear at sunup. Directly off the deck is a firepit next to the warm and shallow waters of Lake Huron. To help you enjoy the water, a kayak, canoe and SUP board are available along with water shoes and adult sized life jackets. A natural flat rock formation at the foot of the property is perfect for sipping cocktails, cooling your feet in the water and watching the sun go down. Lake Huron sunsets are famous for a reason, the pictures don't do it justice.

Pike Bay, Ontario, Kanada

Red Sky is conveniently located right on the border of North and South Bruce Peninsula, giving you quick access to all of its greatest attractions. Heading north you’ll reach the peak of the peninsula, Tobermory where you can visit the famous Grotto, go shipwreck diving or start a journey down the Bruce trail. Drive south and you’ll hit one of Canada’s largest sandy beaches, Sauble with surf, shopping and delicious restaurants. A little closer to home, we recommend heading to the Pike Bay General Store for some ice cream (wine for the adults) or to the St Jean Point Nature Reserve. Both an 8 minute bike ride away. Or, don't leave the property at all and spend your days swimming and sunbathing and your nights by the fire watching the stars under one of the darkest sky’s in southern Ontario. Whatever style of exploration you're looking for, Red Sky is positioned in the perfect location to help make your trip experience unforgettable.

For nature lovers it’s worth noting that the Bruce is home to two National parks; Bruce Peninsula National Park which is a designated dark sky preserve and Fathom Five National Marine Park considered a diver’s paradise with 23 sunken shipwrecks to explore, four provincial parks and at least seven other protected areas. The Niagara escarpment which runs the length of the peninsula is a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve. The biodiversity of the Peninsula is also not to be missed and includes 44 wild orchid varieties, bald eagles and a large grouping of ancient white pines, some of the oldest trees in the country. One gnarly pine is Ontario’s oldest living tree, germinating over 1,300 years ago.

Grotto tips:

During May 1-Oct 31 you’ll need to reserve parking.

Over the phone the cost is $20.20 per vehicle (2019 rates)

January is when you can call to find out launch date to start making reservations ahead of time.

During the week you may get a reservation the day of, but during the weekend it’s likely to be booked up ahead of time so it’s best to book in advance.

1) 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 2) 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

3) 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 4) 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m

5) 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 6) 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Hi There! I'm a cohost who helps Airbnb hosts provide first-rate, memorable experiences for their guests. My business, GuestPlease helps launch and manage short-term rentals so owners can carry on with their lives while making extra money. I'm a lover of dogs (Pugs melt my heart), photography, decorating, yoga, the outdoors (water and sun!), travelling, adventure, FOOD....oh, and of course my partner Brett who is a fixer of anything and everything and keeps me laughing every day! My life motto is "There's always a Plan B" If we are your guests, Brett and I will leave your space so that you will wonder if we were even there! I currently live in Oliphant, Ontario Canada, on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula!
