A real retreat at Keadue cottage.

A 1.5 km drive down a wooded laneway you'll arrive at a secluded spot. Tranquilty, calm, and privacy are on offer, unless you want to converse with the birds. There will be no distractions or compromise; so play that loud music if you wish, or bathe in the sound of the rustling trees. At night, the silence is deafening, the stars shine bright, the firepit outside is crackling and the woodburning stove is ready for a couch snuggle.

Ramble, explore, indulge.

A renovated traditional stone cottage. Inside, a unique style, with lots of reclaimed materials from the area. Features such as a bog oak-framed fireplace, original stone interior walls, refurbished church stained glass window, artifacts found on-site have been repointed into the walls, almost a 360° view to the outside with the large floor-to-ceiling windows and underfloor heating. The cottage is buried in pine forests and is overlooked by The Iron, Arigna, and Kilronan Mountains. It is also surrounded by Lough Allen, Lough Key, and Lough Meelagh, not to mention many smaller lakes and ponds. There is even a small lake behind the house if you care to explore and find it.

The garden is a mix of wild flowers and purpose-planted foliage, both kempt and unkempt. Handmade stone firepit, seating, and table situated between garden and cottage for easy access to kitchen and BBQ.

The cottage is cosy and perfect for 2 guests with pets. 1 double bedroom. 2 large comfy couches or a blow-up mattress for additional guests. Happy to accommodate accordingly.

Keadew, Roscommonin piirikunta, Irlanti

The cottage is situated on the Leitrim/Roscommon border (and boasts all that "Lovely Leitrim" has to offer)
3.4 km walk into Keadue village, bidding 3 cosy pubs offering creamy Guinness pints, a top-notch local butcher and a small convenience store.

Drumshanbo village is 7 km away with more amenities such as grocery stores, pharmacy, a cafe and a tasty fish 'n chip shop which also does great pizzas, not to forget the Gin distillery!
Carrick-on-Shannon town is only 18 km away, and offers cosy or busy pubs, nightlife, restaurants, you name it. Local taxi's to and from can be arranged.

Arigna village is 5km away, with a great underground coal mine tour and history exhibition. The Miner's Bar in Arigna is welcoming and provides a chance to interact with local farmers and residents. Live music nights aplenty and often impromptu sing-songs.

Lough Key Forest Park offers adventure amenities such as a high ropes obstacle course, canoeing, kayaking, orienteering, biking, etc., or just a day rambling freely around the forest grounds with a fresh coffee from the cafe. Lough Allen Adventure in Drumshanbo offers water sports, climbing, horse riding etc. If boating takes your fancy then dinghies and more luxurious boats can be rented from Carrick-on-Shannon.
Fishing, surfing, swimming, and beach walking all only 40 minutes' drive to the coast of Sligo. Mayo and Donegal are also worth an hour's drive for a day trip.

Kilronan Castle overlooking Lough Meelagh is 4 km away and worth a visit for a walk around the castle grounds and lake, some fine dining, a visit to the bar, or to induldge in the day spa.
Many hiking routes start straight from the house or a short drive away. The infamous Miners' way is historical route not to be missed. Slieve Anierin with its hidden stone altar behind the mountain's rock face is another rewarding easy-to-moderate hike (also known as Irelands most creative hike) with spectacular views over Lough Allen, Leitrim, Cavan, and Roscommon.

There's so much more on offer so please do reach out for any other reccommendations .

The cottage is very quirky and you may need to be shown how to use certain things. I am very respectful of people's privacy, so it is your decision if you wish for me to meet you at the property to go through the use of heating, music, and TV system or other queries that arise. I am only around the corner and will happily come over at your request should there be any problems. Otherwise, enjoy your time and have fun.
