Near Old Colorado City, this is a modern, beautifully appointed space in the historic, eclectic, "Westside" neighborhood. It is an independent, light filled loft above a detached garage, having vaulted ceilings with fans, and a skylight. The floors are natural concrete with warm, radiant heat during the cold season. The kitchen contains a gas range, a refrigerator, and microwave, (no dishwasher) and is completely outfitted for full meal preparations and serving. There is off street parking in the driveway below, off the alley, with a private, secure entrance. (I am in the house in front.)
The daybed in the main living area stores a trundle underneath so it can separately (or together) sleep two people. There is a queen sized bed in the separate bedroom with comfy down/feather comforter, blanket, and pillows, and ample closet and drawer space. There is a shower only. The furniture is of good quality and comfortable for the average person. From one to four people can be very comfortable as guests.
The loft is within walking or short driving distance to historic Old Colorado City with its shops, galleries, restaurants, and summertime Saturday morning farmer's market in Bancroft Park. It is only a ten minute drive downtown to the east with more shops and restaurants, museums and galleries. Just beyond that is Memorial Park with its Olympic velodrome and annual Labor Day balloon fest. Slightly north of downtown is Colorado College (Alum mom, 2010!). It is less than 15 minutes from the Broadmoor Conference Center. The space has easy access to the Cimarron Expressway (Hwy. 24) for travel either to the freeway or west into the mountains, Manitou Springs, and Garden of the Gods. It is also near the Midland Trail for bicycling, walking, or jogging. There is a bus stop on the corner for public transportation.
From the north and west views one can catch glimpses of the beautiful Rocky Mountains and foothills. It is truly a comfortable and inviting loft, created by and for an artist, and continuing to show some local creations.
I believe everything is accurately described and listed. If you have any questions, please inquire. I am happy to accommodate.
