Yes Kapverde is a very poor country, and although most of the travel books mention it, it is a difference, when you are there and realize it . Therefore I tried to tell more of it in my description so the guest will not be disapointed .The tourists get the best the people have. But they do not have much. Even in the hotels or appartments nearly everything is imported directly from europe ( as the things, for exp cotton clothes I take with me from Hamburg). But you can't get european standard besides you stay in the both best Hotels. But nevertheless the life there is not as bad we thing, because there are different values. But they change now coming more tourists. Kapverde, even santo Antao is loosing its "charme" step by step, but it is still some left. You don't get the feeling for this when you are on a tour with an organized group, but a little bit when you traveling on your own, staying in my flat. It is either you love Santo Antao or not.
