What a lovely place to stay!! We are veteran airbnb'ers but have never stayed at an actual bed and breakfast before so I really don't have anything to compare this to on that level... We were unable to enjoy breakfast as we were in the area for an ultra marathon my husband was running that occurred thru the middle of the night so we slept thru breakfast time but Donna had left some banana nut bread out which was perfect and very appreciated. She also allowed us a late checkout and after not getting back to our room until 4am we were very happy for that! We were able to bring our dog for an extra $20 as there are 2 rooms which are directly off of the large porch. This kept our dog out of the main house and was also good for us since we had odd hours due to the race. The house was built in 1890 and has had several owners, it has quite a rich and interesting history. When we first arrived Donna gave us a tour and showed us some of the beautiful pieces of furniture that she inherited which look as if they belong to the house originally. The previous owners had stripped the house bare so it has been a process for Donna and her husband Mark to refurbish everything, but they're doing it beautifully. Our room was beautifully decorated, had its own bathroom and was nicely appointed. It had everything you needed, a desk, a comfortable chair, and a place to put your things. The bathroom was small but the shower was decent sized and had good water pressure. The queen size bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. They also own a restaurant that is just across the parking lot from the inn, the owner Mark said it used to be a dance hall! The food is basic american. Sandwiches, burgers, wings. We both ordered club sandwiches and they were exceptional and very affordable. If you plan on staying here, plan on eating here. The grounds are very beautiful as well, be sure you get out walk around. Don't expect flowers or English gardens just what grows naturally... think old Church campground. It was very relaxing walking down to the pond, it looks like maybe it was a fish hatchery back in the day?? I never did ask... There were benches along the way with shade and as you sat there looking out at the land that doesn't look like it's changed much in 100 years you could almost hear the children laughing from yester-year...
