This location represents some the best rural outlooks in New Zealand.
The cabin is located on the banks of the world renowned trout fishing river the Wanganui.
The cabin is very private and yet close to many local amenities such as restraunts bars swimming pools, and many local shops.
When you arrive you will be welcomed and guided to you accommodation and advised of what is available both on site and around the district.
We have just completed a small cosy single bedroom detached from the main cabin complete with its own toilet. This is ideal for a family of three or four. The bathroom and kitchen of the main cabin are accessed via the front deck as you will see by the photos. The cabin is powered by solar for lighting and gas for cooking, heating and hot water. There is a small gas fridge in the kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you need. The cabin can sleep 2 comfortably in a double bed and there is a futon sofa bed that can be set up to take a 3rd guest at a pinch. There is also the sleep-out for the 4th guest, or it can be utilised for the 3rd guest if you need more space/privacy in the main cabin. There is also a fire pit outside with boulders to sit on and toast your marshmallows! Firewood, paper, matches, firefighters, etc are all provided.
Just metres away is the historic Wanganui river where you can enjoy swimming, canoeing, rafting or trout fishing. We have a kilometre of river access on our property .

It is our aim to make your time with us a memorable. We have plenty of attractions in and around our town.
The three mountains are only 40 minutes away, the tongariro crossing is an hour away, and by arrangement we can take you to night viewing of the glow worms about 20 minutes drive away.
There is no smoking inside any part of the cabin or sleep-out. Please leave the cabin and grounds in a tidy condition and if there are any breakages or something is not working or needs attention please let us know immediately so we can take steps to rectify.
Be aware that the farm fences are electrified (these are not blocking your access to the river), and there may be farm animals on the surrounding farmland so keeping gates closed is appreciated.
If you have young children, please keep in mind that the Wanganui River is only metres away.
