This beautiful spacious historic home kept its original charm, where you can enjoy the original claw foot bath tub, sit in front of many plants and watch the sunrise over Lake Bemidji. Located on the lake walk, it offers quietness on a non-busy street, but also liveliness being only a few blocks from downtown and the University. This suite on the first floor include a private vintage bedroom, an adjoining parlor and a private living room that could be closed off upon request.
The suite our guests will stay in is a quaint bedroom on the first floor with a queen size bed. There are two entries to the bedroom, one is in the hallway with a door, the other goes to the adjoining parlor/kitchenette, which is furnished with a twin size futon, a sink, microwave, and a mini refrigerator, an electric cooktop exclusively for our guests. Both rooms and the vintage bathroom right next door are tucked away on one side of the house, offering additional privacy for our guests. On this side of the house, there is a living room that can be closed off to accommodate a party of four or be used for meeting friends at your request. There is a sectional sofa that converts to a full size bed in that living room. When guests park in the back and come through the back door, then the room is just left through the kitchen (Being Chinese, we love to cook, so the kitchen is always busy). If guests come in from the front, the rooms are to the right of the entrance.
Here we believe in the power of a good night sleep. Equipped with supportive mattress, bamboo fiber sheets and goose down blanket/organic cotton quilt, you are sure to be comfortable every season you visit.
The side of the house where the bedroom is is known as the in-laws side, and can be closed off for more privacy. You can access other part of the house on the first floor upon request or if we are not home. Please ask us about the authentic Chinese breakfast option for $10 per person.

We are a busy family with small children, so we can't always be around to check you in or out, but we do love to interact whenever we can. The kids are asleep from 8 to 8, so those are the quiet hours. Expect some noise associated with children other times in the house, and we are home quite a bit. We will definitely make local recommendations, and we are always available to answer any questions in person or via text.

This is an old home, and you might hear my small children run and play, so if you don't appreciate an older home, and are not okay with kids, or want to sleep in till 10 with absolutely no sound disturbance, this might not be the right place for you. When we have guests, we do ask our toddler to keep it down, and he does his best.
Please take off your outside shoes before entering. If you use any dishes, utensils, please clean after yourself. This is a 1904 home, and we have small children in the house, so if you don't appreciate an older home or are not comfortable with active children, you might want to look elsewhere.
My husband and I with our toddler son live in Bemidji, and work at the local universities. We both teach economics, and we also have two rabbits. We love life, being outdoor and staying active.
