Best things to do in Bernese Highlands

Maisemallinen näköalapaikka
“Jungfraujoch! The highest train station in Europe. This is a VERY crowded place to visit as it's one of the most heavily visited tourist spots in Switzerland. It's a pricey train ticket, but worth the trip if you can justify it. Many people travel from around the world solely to see the Jungfraujoch. PRO TIP: take the very first train up for the best chance of good weather and to beat the peak tourist times. ”

Nebst Kinderteller für die jüngsten Gäste bietet man für Senioren oder kleine Esser auch kleine Portionen an. Etwas unterhalb des Berghaus Seeblick, mit sehr schöner Aussicht. Kein Ruhetag. “The castle is dated from 1200 and has had several different ownerships. The museum is showing the history of his past inhabitants. The exhibition gives you a good idea of how the Bernese upper class life style must have been sometimes inbetweeek the 16th and the 19th century. There is a really nice park attached to it. It is perfect for walking and lake watching. There are a few really big and old trees and the park is well maintained. (The castle closes for the winter season, closed on mondays as well)”

“The St. Beatus Caves are a very impressive site to visit on those rainy days. You can walk about 900 meters into the mountain and get to see many great rock formations. Make sure you take a jacket with you, even in summer. it is always around 8 degrees in the caves. Best is to take the ship from Oberhofen Pier to Sundlauene and then hike about 25 minutes to the caves. Alternatively you may take the bus (free of charge with your Panorama Card) or the car to Beatushöhlen. There is as well a small museum where you get to see some mountain crystals. ”
