Andrew and Val were very welcoming, offering us coffee and biscuits. Andrew also gave us lots of tips for visiting York. The room was lovely and the bathroom luxurious. We had home made cinnamon butter and bread for breakfast which was delicious. The location was great for getting to York and the local pub sold excellent food. We would thoroughly recommend this place.

Fantastic stay with Andrew and Val, lovely spacious bedroom and bathroom, and delicious continental breakfast including homemade bread, marmalade and eggs laid by their own hens! Very accommodating hosts, we were attending a wedding at nearby York Maze, and not only were we able to check in early to get changed etc, they also gave us a lift to the venue! Highly recommend :)

We really enjoyed our stay here. Despite late arrival Andrew greeted us with delicious wine for my wife and cup of mint tea for myself. Room was spacious and comfortable. House itself is like another world. Stylish decorations, pictures and paintings make you feel to be in very special location. We also loved beautiful garden. Breakfast was light and delicious. Val and Andrew were super hosts! They communicated well with us before our arrival and even prepared us drinks once we'd got to their place - tea for me and a beer for my partner Bobby. We had a friendly chat with them over our drinks- was lovely to get to know a bit about them and what brought them both to York. They had plenty of recommendations of things to do which was very helpful. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures- tucked away in one side of the house so allowed for privacy. The bath was even bigger than it looked in the photos- I now want our own stand alone bath tub! Breakfast was served with Val's home made bread which was a nice touch. We also had boiled eggs, a choice of cereals and fruit and yoghurt- so set us up well for a day of exploring York! This is a delightful cottage which is well appointed and situated in a quiet neighbourhood. The beds are very comfortable and bathroom with bath and shower is well designed. Plenty of places to park. A small outside space just fitting a table and couple of chairs, a lovely spot for a relaxing drink. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

"A Rose-y Review" Rose was a fantastic host, she has a great little cottage in a quiet town outside of Yorkshire. We had a wedding to attend so could easily drive into the City in about 15mins. Very very clean room and equally clean bathroom, lovely comfortable bed and tea, coffee, water, fruit etc was included in the room. Breakfast was very kindly laid out both mornings.

We loved Rose's cottage! We have stayed in several airbnbs but this was by far our favourite. The cottage is gorgeous comfortable and in the best setting. On street parking was easy and Elvington was a great location for exploring York. Wish we couldve stayed longer!! I have no hesitation recommending this wonderful cottage...

Really enjoyed our time in York, great place to stay.

Nous sommes restés dans la grange en Juillet avec nos 2 garçons, âgés de 3 et 7, et nous ne pouvions pas le recommander. Il est dans un endroit calme endroit magnifique village avec un accès facile à York et la grange elle-même est impeccable. Il était propre, confortable, décorée avec goût et très bien aménagées. Il y avait vraiment tout ce que nous pourrions avoir besoin. La deuxième chambre a été mis en place pour nous avec 2 lits simples et il n'y avait pas de problème du tout avec l'espace de sorte que la grange peut facilement accueillir 4. Il y a un beau morceau d'espace extérieur aussi, ce qui est un vrai régal si le soleil brille. Mhairi est un hôte exceptionnel avec une excellente communication et heureux de vous aider avec toutes les questions. Dans l'ensemble nous avons eu un bon moment et je le recommande vivement. Je vous remercie!

Made very welcome by our host. The place is lovely, perfect for a couple or Family of 4 or even 4 adults. Although 2nd bedroom is a bit tight with 2 single beds it doesn't matter as plenty of room throughout upstairs for belongings. The area is delightful. Excellant for cycling either on the flat in the vale of York or in the wolds just a few miles away. We spent a day walking on the coast watching gannets, puffins, guillemots & razorbills. A day cycling into the hills around Pocklington & a Day walking in the hills. Some great places to eat within a short distance and well equiped if you want to cator for yourself. Also plenty of space to relax outside if the Sun comes out. We really enjoyed ourselves and will return to the area. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Irene has thought of everything anyone could want in an Airbnb. She provides a fantastic breakfast, the whole house is spotlessly clean, the bedroom and bathroom are top quality and it all comes with a really friendly, warm approach. Absolutely 5 Gold Stars! P.S. I had a wonderful time as a guest at Irene's house. Her and Mike were splendid hosts who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. The village is right outside York and they had many suggestions on sight seeing and where to park. This is a great place to stay when visiting York. It's only a very short drive into the city - I have used it a couple of times when visiting my son at Uni - it's perfectly placed on the right side of town. The accommodation is immaculate, cosy and comfortable with thoughtful touches like homemade flapjacks on arrival with a jug of fresh milk and forgetful items in the bathroom should you need them. Arrival and departure times are no problem thanks to a key box so bad traffic won't send you into a panic! Communication with the host is excellent so the stay runs like clockwork. Quite a little find!

We were up visiting for a friends wedding and needed a place to stay for the night. Gilly's place was absolutely lovely; Welcoming, spacious, quiet and extremely comfortable. We were treated to some great Brownies too! It's a little way out of York City centre and a little hidden, but Gilly's instructions were perfect and there was plenty of information at the place, about the best ways to get around and local amenities. I would whole-heartedly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay there again.

WOW what a place! Went here as a group to celebrate a 60th birthday and what a weekend it was. Lovely house, great space, cosy log fire and great hot tub! Pam was a lovely host, replied to my messages immediately and made us all feel very welcome. Would 100% visit again!

Pam was a great host, keys were left in a key lock which was easy to access. She had left a lovely welcome basket of muffins and prosecco which were very welcome, as well as tea, coffee, milk etc. Even better than the pictures, Great experience - would definitely recommend.

Greenlands Farmhouse is the perfect base for a great weekend :) Myself and family/friends visited to celebrate my partners 30th birthday and what a fantastic weekend we had! We spent the entire weekend hauled up in the Farmhouse, playing card games in the cosy front room with the log fire going, making a huge roast dinner for us to enjoy in the dining room, taking advantage of the lovely hot tub in the freezing sleet and wind! It doesn't take long to get into York itself to visit all it has to offer too, if that's what you'd prefer! Pam is a fantastic host and looked after us very well :) I couldn't recommend the farmhouse enough! We plan to visit again in the warmer months to enjoy the outside pool!

This was our first airbnb experience and it was great. Emma is a wonderful host who was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Her place is on the outskirts of York, so not close to the city centre but it worked well for us as we were catching a park and ride for the university open day. Emma ensured we had everything we needed and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend staying with Emma.

This cottage is the quintessential English country getaway and perfect for romantic or restorative weekends. My husband and I stayed one night on our way south. The room is exactly as described, and Irene has gone out of her way with little extras to make your stay comfortable. She even has little milk bottles of fresh milk for tea or coffee in the room. In the morning she cooked a great breakfast for us. She and her husband were very helpful about getting into York and where to park (Castle Car Park is best). Good value for price!

I stayed at Irene's due to a short trip I did to York. You can either drive or use public transport to get there. I really enjoyed the b&b experience: the accommodation was clean, cozy, safe, it included breakfast and Irene was a lovely attentive host! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. We were made to feel welcome at every point. We were able to walk in and find our way round easily, with Drew available on the phone at any time, and completely helpful. Facilities were excellent, providing every comfort for our large group staying two nights. It is a quiet spot with nicely-kept surroundings, next to a wheat-field 300 metres from the A19, and convenient for York.

I couldn't recommend Deighton Lodge enough! We were a stag party of 13 and booked the entire lodge to ourselves. All of the bedrooms were comfortable, clean and spacious and the communal areas of the lodge were great, particularly the garden and the snooker room. We were left to our own devices for breakfast and were allowed to use the food provided by Jen and her team. Jen also organised us a taxi to take us into York and allowed us to turn up a little earlier on the Friday to drop off some stuff – a great host!

Deighton Lodge is every bit as wonderful as it looks! I rented the entire lodge for my friends hen weekend and we had the most amazing time. Drew was so helpful from the start and was very patient answering all of my questions. The premises is located a handy 10 minutes from the city centre but when you're there you wouldn't know, it's so peaceful and surrounded by fields and countryside. The house has everything you need and comfortably accommodated 14 of us with great kitchen facilities and an amazing garden!

Diane is a very warm person and an excellent host. She is very accommodating and made me feel very welcomed. The shower is great - very powerful and the room is nice - lovely view. We enjoyed spending time at Nara's house. The garden is lovely and great for young children. Our children enjoyed the large trampoline! The house is very clean and tidy and feels homely. Nara kindly allowed us to use all the facilities in the kitchen, including the washing machine. She also left out some toys and books for the children, which kept them entertained. The house is in a quiet, green and pretty suburb of York, that is well connected by bus routes to the city centre. It is ideal for a family with young children.

As we didn't drive a car this time, we found that it is very convenient to take a bus to the city center. The bus stop is just near the house and it takes very short time to get to the city center. And since Nara is a Korean, I think the house is a perfect choice for Asian. Because they have some Asian kitchen ware besides the European ones, such as electric cooker. It is very convenient to wash clothes by washing machine. The house is very sweet with a big garden. I believe that Nara has a happy family with two lovely kids through the beautiful house.

Jeannette and Robin are lovely hosts. I have to underline the welcoming dinner I was offer to have with them and their Japanese student at the wonderful conservatory. Their place is very nice, quiet and in a very convenient location for the University. Also, bus stop to the city center is super close. Big room with a king size and very comfortable bed! Recommended.
