  • Mukava uusi mökki Loistava sijainti

    Kim2019-04-02T00:00:00Z

    James2019-03-23T00:00:00Z

Our secluded cabin is surrounded by ancient oak tree forest and all the wildlife that comes with it. It is so peaceful that you will only hear the river and the birds. Set in 10 acres of our own land for you to explore and easy access to Snowdonia public foothpaths, it is perfect for those looking to spend some time in nature. The cabin itself features private hot tub, wet room, underfloor heating, large deck with bbq, kingsize bed, kitchen, living and dining area and a private cinema.
*Our cabin is very popular and if it’s full for your dates we have another equally wonderful place to stay ‘The Barn Owl’. Find it by clicking on our host profile photo* Our cabin is a nature lovers retreat for those looking for an adventure on foot or 2 wheels, or merely an escape from hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's located in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by native ancient forest and the wildlife it supports, nothing but the sound of the river and birdsong. After leaving your car at the garage, make the rest of your journey on foot, a short walk over a bridge by a waterfall and up a tree lined track up towards the cabin. The cabin is a long stone's throw from the main house but enjoys complete privacy through it's own gate and is hidden amongst trees and shrubs. It comprises large furnished deck complete with hot tub, perfect for relaxing in nature and under the stars. Inside there is underfloor heating, kingsize bed, fully equipped kitchen & dining area, wet room and large comfy couch on which to enjoy a full cinema experience. *From mid March we will be changing our hot tub from an electric to a wood fired tub. We think you’ll agree it’s a cut above as we have learned from our other Airbnb rental :) * The cabin is a perfect way to explore this part of Snowdonia, the surrounding area is crisscrossed with walkers paths and bike trails, there are outdoor pursuits galore from surfing to zip wiring over the slate mines. Snowdon itself is close for more great walking, as is Coed y Brenin for mountain biking and Bala for watersports or simply amble through nearby forests, by beautiful rivers and lakes. On a sunny day, the beautiful white sandy beaches of Harlech, Borth y Gest and the Llyn Peninsula are all within a short drive away. Now for the basics, we provide bedding and towels, small welcome pack (for 3+ nights). Eco-sensitive toiletries are provided which we encourage you to use. The cabin comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a further 2 small children or babies and we can supply travel cot, blow up bed and high chair. The cabin has full cinema experience and we have an extensive library for you to choose from. We are both keen walkers and can supply maps or advice on the many local hikes. You can even borrow 'Jake' - our perfect dog - if you promise to take him for a walk!!
Our nearest neighbour is well over 1/2 a mile away. It's you, the trees, the birds and the stars. There are nearby towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog for your supplies and various pub food and restaurant options. We are also close by to Portmeirion Village.

Comfortable, well-appointed cottage providing ideal accommodation for a short break or longer stay. Blaenau is the perfect location for an active holiday in Snowdonia, for just relaxing, or for a bit of both. Direct view of the Ffestiniog Railway.
The cottage provides a comfortable base for a short or long holiday, whether you intend this to be full of activities, a chill out, or a combination of both. The cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms. Gorgeous detached Victorian house on edge of lake with views over Cader Idris and the Rhiniog Mountain range. House is full of character and original features- open fireplace, log burning stove, servant bells! A perfect house for family gatherings
Snowdonia is full of quaint cottages. Bryn Gwyn is special because it is a large handsome family home- standing in its own grounds on the edge of the village- but with shops of the village only 3 minute walk away. This is not a bland ‘holiday house’ -nor is it a posh country house hotel. It’s a a quirky, slightly shabby, very comfortable, deeply loved home full of lovely things.
Great views from a very Welsh village, easy access to beaches, mountains, Harlech castle, Portmeirion and Porthmadog. Brilliant for mountain bikers and the trampoline and zip wire at Llechwedd slate quarries

This is our newly renovated holiday home in the pretty village of Llan Ffestioniog - in the heart of Snowdonia .There is a nearby shop and a famous community run Pub a short walk away. .Small Outside area for BBQ - Careful pet owners welcome.
In the lounge you will find a TV with separate DVD player - and Wii player with a few games ( and the guitar for guitar heroes game!).There are a few DVD's and Wii games for your pleasure.Upstairs in one of the twin bedrooms there is another TV which is only connected to a playstation PS2 , again a few games present- This TV is also a dvd so again help yourself.
Location Location Location ! Thats the key to our little house . Wales is pumping money into tourism and 3 miles away is where it all starts with downhill Mountain biking and Zip world amongst other things . Check out Electric Mountain- Surf snowdonia and of course the steam trains and naturally Snowden itself . However , just behind thehouse down a steep path is a bit of a secret ancient wooded waterfall strewn valley , literally 5 minutes walk - but 15 mins back!.This is my personal recommendation , there willprobably be no one else there but it is wild ancient wales at its best - Skinny dipping for the brave !

This house was originally a butchers shop in the picturesque village of Tanygrisiau. It has a self contained garden flat on the lower ground floor. The Ffestiniog railway runs in front of the main house and beautiful walks are on the doorstep.
The house retains many original features although the lower ground floor flat is newly renovated with an added private conservatory. It still retains the old character with wooden beams and a log burning stove in the living area.
Tanygrisiau is a small old slate mining village on the outskirts of Blaenau-Ffestiniog in Snowdonia National Park.

The private hot tub in the enclosed garden with views out over the valley provide a great setting any time of the year.

Our cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard and comprises of an open plan area downstairs with a wood-burner (perfect for a relaxing evening after a day in the mountains), comfy sofa, table and chairs for 4 and a modern kitchen (although no microwave). In addition to the stove there is a heater downstairs and one in each bedroom, plus a heater in the bathroom, so you should be cosy! The bathroom is downstairs and although small is newly decorated with a bath and an electric shower. Upstairs (quite steep stairs and no stair gate) we have two bedrooms, one with a double bed and enjoying magnificent views over the Moelwyn Mountains and a second, smaller bedroom with bunkbeds. Please note that the window in the back bedroom is not childproof ( it needs to open wide for fire safety) the lock can be opened by pressing the button, there is a key on key ring by back door if you want to keep it locked. There are no wardrobes (due to space) but there are large chests of drawers in both rooms and hooks on backs of doors. To the rear of the cottage is a small patio with steep stone steps (the path is uneven with no handrail and sometimes slippy, so take care!) leading up to a wooden studio with breathtaking views (you may want to spend your whole holiday here!). From mid autumn to early spring we leave a complementary ‘log pack’ for wood burner, extra supplies of wood and kindling are readily available at the Coop and MColls in the town. Please note that there is no fire guard. There is private, off-road parking outside the cottage. Please note that although the property can sleep four it might be a bit of a squeeze with 4 adults and is better suited to couples or small families.
Sitting in the heart of Snowdonia, Blaenau Ffestiniog, a village hugged by the mountains is the perfect location for you if you are looking for a relaxing break or an action packed adventure. The cottage is around a mile south of the main Blaenau village, in the area of Manod. There is walking, climbing, mountain-biking, and a host of exciting rainy day activities all accessible from the village. Often described as “the town that roofed the world” Blaenau Ffestiniog also has an interesting history to explore. Travel a few miles further afield and the wealth of activities on hand in Snowdonia national park will keep you active for the whole of your stay I am sure. Titan Zip world, Bounce Below, Slate Caverns, Downhill Mountain Bike Trails, Ffestiniog Railway, and the National Whitewater centre are all nearby

This delightful 18th century quarrymans cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard whilst retaining character features such as exposed ceiling beams and cosy wood burning stove. Situated amongst some dramatic scenery in the heart of the Snowdonia National Parkand set in a quiet location overlooking fields and a nearby river & only a few minutes walk away from the Ffestiniog Steam Train railway station in Tanygrisiau. A perfect retreat for couples seeking a romantic getaway.
The cottage is arranged over 2 floors, on the ground floor the living accommodation is all open plan with a comfy sitting area, dining area and well-appinted kitchen area with electric oven, induction hob, fridge with ice box and washer/dryer. The bathroom is also downstairs and has a double ended bath with shower over, basin and WC. There is no inglenook fireplace in the cottage, but the chimney breast wall more than makes up for this and is a lovely feature dressed with some fantastic artwork of the Ffestiniog Railway. A slate hearth houses the Tiger cast iron multi fuel woodburning stove. There are exposed ceiling beams downstairs, and reproduction paneling on the open staircase. The kitchen area is well equipped and is modern in styling with spotlighting, whilst retaining a country cottage look and feel to it. The spacious bedroom takes up the entire first floor and is light and bright, and has been very well appointed with a king size bed and lovely linen and fluffy towels (all included). The cottage has electric heating and this is all included in the rent. We provide all the bedding and towels, including tea towels. The cottage also has Wifi, a good selection of books, games and a great choice of DVD's. We also provide the following ‘consumables’: Washing up liquid, washing up brush, cloth & sponge, washing powder/liquid, dishcloths, and tea towels. Liquid soaps by washbasins, toilet roll and bin bags. We also provide a small supply of Tea, Coffee & Sugar and a selection of Herbal & Fruit Teas. There is also a condiment set of Salt, Pepper & Vinegar, and a small selection of assorted herbs. We accept a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs - please see our House Rules. There is an enclosed gated front courtyard area with shallow stone/slate wall, access gate and seating.
The cottage issituated in a terrace of about 12 cottages and are located in a quiet position away from the main road and passing traffic. Situated in the village of Tanygrisiau, meaning ‘Under the Steps’, a close neighbour of the larger town, better known as Blaenau Ffestiniog. An ideal location for exploring the attractions Snowdonia offers. There are some fantastic walks, lakes & waterfalls from the cottage too. The village has a local pub called The King’s Head (locally known as the Tap) which is about a 20 minute walk away, and there is a local bus service which runs regularly into Blaenau Ffestiniog and can be picked up at the end of the terrace. There is also Tanygrisiau Lakeside Café a 2 minute walk away which offers a wide choice of snacks & meals during the day, including a good breakfast menu which will set you up for the day.

Recently converted coach house now providing 2 large bedrooms with en suite luxury bathrooms. This room we call 'Merlod'. We are in the heart of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. A substantial hamper breakfast is delivered to your room. Each room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, coffee maker and furnished to a high standard. We use high quality bed linen and towels. Dogs are welcome and we are breeders of Scottish Terriers.
We have beautiful landscaped gardens with some quite spectacular mountain views. Guests are welcome to use the gardens and perhaps enjoy a glass of wine whilst sitting and admiring the magnificent Snowdonia scenery. Each bedroom is on the ground floor and has its own separate entrance from the courtyard. Wherever possible we fruit and vegetables from the garden and eggs from our small flock of free range hens. We believe strongly in sourcing as much food as possible locally and using Welsh butter, cheese, bread, honey and preserves. We can cater for vegetarians but regret that we are unable to cater for Vegans or other specialist dietary requirements.
We are situated within The Snowdonia National Park just 1km from the village of Llan Ffestiniog which has a pub and general stores. There are many pubs and restaurants within a short drive. The old slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is just 3 miles away. The main local attractions include the slate Caverns and Zip World - the longest zip line in Europe and the fastest in the world. The famous Ffestiniog Railway runs for 13 miles from the town through the National Park to the harbour town of Porthmadog. Within 10 minutes drive of us is the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion renowned for its architecture and for being the film set for the cult TV series The Prisoner. Harlech with its historic castle and the newly designated steepest street in the world (Guinness Book of Records 2019) is little over 15 minutes away. There are numerous safe and sandy beaches nearby particularly on the Llyn peninsular. The area is a walkers’ paradise and there is even a public footpath at the end of our drive leading to the Cynfal waterfall.

My cottage is perched high above Blaenau FFestiniog with stunning views in a quiet residential area but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. It is beautifully warm in the winter and in the summer catches the sun from dawn until dusk. Zip World, Bounce Below , the LLechwedd Slate Caverns and the FFestiniog Railway are all close by.
CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS - I take the safety of guests seriously and during this epidemic there is a free day between all bookings. All surfaces, door handles, key safe, hand rails etc are thoroughly cleaned and bed linen is being given an extra long wash. The cottage is centrally heated and consists of a lounge/kitchen/ diner, double bedroom, bathroom and utility room. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, slow cooker and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dining table with three chairs and the lounge has a comfy sofa and chair. The cottage is equipped with a Freesat TV with a DVD player and a small library of DVD's, some books and games. Free WiFi is available. There is also a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there is a roomy double bedroom with stunning views from the window. The bathroom consists of a bath with overhead electric Mira shower. Bed linen and towels are provided and gas/electricity are included in the price. Outside there is a front garden with bench and the rear terraced garden has a table and chairs and a gas BBQ. There are steep steps to the front door and the rear garden. The cottage is available for 2 nights from November to Easter but there is a surcharge of £15 for cleaning for this short break. Please see other things to note.
The cottage is in a very quite terrace in the Summerhill area of Blaenau Ffestiniog and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre and all its amenities which include three small supermarkets which stay open late. There is a dog friendly pub, Y Meirion, at the bottom of the hill which also serves good food and Cell B, which does excellent food, is dog friendly as well. Superb food is also to be found at Red Chillies - the Indian restaurant. The Ffestiniog Railway is a short stroll away and Zip World is within walking distance. Cell B not only does food but also boasts a small cinema and often provides entertainment on a Saturday night. Walks from the cottage lead straight into the mountains.

A quirky, well hidden little house with excellent broadband wifi (no TV!) that sits directly above the Ffestiniog railway in its own private grounds. Set in an exceptionally attractive and self contained location, it has a cosy, secluded and intimate atmosphere- "gemütlich", as the Germans would say. But NOT for everyone- read below! If you think that that either Brexit or reading papers like the Mail, Sun or Express is a good way of improving the world this house may not appeal.
We have not been doing this long so please be patient with us. What follows is mostly negative stuff to ensure you don't have false expectations! This house is definitely for people looking for something a little different. Please note that some people will regard the following as defects: Not simple to find, I'm afraid! I recommend that you actually read the directions that I will send you if you book. PLEASE DON't OMIT TO READ THEM and then mark us down because you have been walking aimlessly in the rain looking for us! It has happened on several occasions. A large flight of 50 steps up to the footbridge and path that leads to the house- not for the infirm! Can be very slippery in freezing conditions. Although electric heaters are supplied, the principal heat source is the Morso multi fuel stove- which is brilliant and heats the place in no time. You need to feel confident about rising to the challenge of managing this! Please note that for ease of locking and unlocking the handle on the front door needs lifting. It is a small house. Ronwen and myself feel that if there are three or four of you you are pushing things a little for space. You need to be good friends or close family! There is no privacy between the side bedroom and main bedroom even though the second bedroom has a door leading to it from the main bedroom at the top of the stairs- you need to decide if this is an issue for you! If the booking is for two people and you would like to make use of the second bedroom, please tell us otherwise we shall assume you are sleeping together!. We are not psychic. A torch is recommended for negotiating the path in the dark. Because the house is not new build (to put it mildly) and some of the work is not to modern standards, the toilet and shower room may not appear squeaky clean (I assure you they are). We were marked down a couple of clients who couldn't find anything unclean there but thought it couldn't possibly be clean because it was old! Beware, it has brass taps and exposed copper pipes, the latter of which I dont mind wiping but absolutely refuse to polish. Not suitable for some children- there is an 8' drop and steep banks at the rear of the house that require awareness, common sense and caution. Downstairs floor consists of a well worn floor covered with rugs- i.e. no wall to wall carpet. No central heating- see above about the stove, for which we supply adequate fuel. Water is heated by propane gas which should be very reliable unless freezing conditions prevail. A tremendous high pressure shower. The furnishings will be a little too 'eclectic' for some people's taste (see photos & intro). Be warned that Sykes Cottages considered us unsuitable because of the brass taps, furniture that did not match and a rather expensive leather couch ("that would have to go")- not to mention the various banks and drops around the house that would need to be fenced off. It must be a miracle our children survived living here! Be aware! PETS (preferably no more than one) are welcome but only if you can assure us that they will not under any circumstances go on a bed or the sofa. Also, we have come very close to saying no to dogs in future because a couple of guests left mountains of dog mess all over the property. We take the cleanliness of the place seriously. As well as high speed wifi provision there is a wireless enabled Bose which will play your music in decent quality.
We think we live in one of the most attractive and characterful parts of this interesting slate town. Mountains to the back of the house and loads of private space. You have here easy access to all of Snowdonia, one of the most exceptionally varied and beautiful areas of Great Britain. As a long term resident and ex guide I have a pretty extensive knowledge of everything around should you wish to tap into it. There are also the famous zip wires, the Antur Stiniog downhill biking, Bounce Below and Llechwedd Slate Caverns more our less on our doorstep- the latter also offers a guided tour around the upper quarries in one of the old lorries which everyone says is extremely interesting. And lots more besides!- e.g. Cell B in the town is a great place have a drink in the evening; it is also an excellent little cinema with high quality sound and visuals (the same resolution as Cineworld but on a smaller screen). The Meirion is local pub whose meals have been praised. The Lakeside is a brilliant, very reasonably priced caff in a wonderful setting next to mountains and lake just down the road from us. In the town there also numerous characterful cafes. The Quarryman's Arms is a newly opened and instantly popular eatery that is much praised by people who go there- basic but well cooked meals.

    Anees2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Olemme juuri palanneet loistavasta aurinkoisesta viikonlopun taukosta.

    Daniel2019-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Voi suositella tätä ihanaa mökkiä. Fantastic location ja tulee epäsuotuisalla säällä;)

Situated in the heart of Snowdonia, as well as its interesting history as a former slate mining town, Blaenau Ffestiniog offers a narrow gauge steam railway, the famous Llechwedd Zip World, Blaenau-Ffestiniog is also a popular destination for walkers with Snowdon around a half hour drive, Tryfan close by and Antur Stiniog for mountain bikers. Penllwyn is a 19th Century, stone-built, detached cottage, which enjoys an elevated position above the village next to the Blaenau Ffestiniog steam railway line. It is a great base for exploring all that North Wales has to offer; whether you are looking to enjoy the many local outdoor adventure activities, or just want a quiet relaxing retreat next to a roaring log fire.
Penllwyn is full of character, with a traditional woodburner, exposed beams and slate floors. The gardens outside provide views over the valley, as well as plenty of space to sit and watch the steam trains chug right past the garden. Ideal for families, there is a double bedroom with plenty of space for a travel cot (not provided), along with a twin bedroom. The bathroom (with shower) is downstairs. Please note that whilst the cottage is ideal for families, there is a very steep path entrance up to the cottage so small children would need close supervision. However, once inside the gate, the garden is a safe environment for children to play. Amenities: -Electric convector heaters and woodburner in living room -Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD Player -Nespresso Coffee Machine provided but please bring your own pods! (Difficult to source locally; Lidl/Aldi in Porthmadog have compatible pods if you wish to purchase) -Electricity and starter pack for woodburner included (plenty of places locally selling logs/kindling) -Bed linen and towels included -Roadside parking at the bottom of the path (can drive to cottage for loading/unloading only) -Secure bike storage -Enclosed, fenced garden with furniture and chiminea
Penllwyn is located in the village of Tanygrisiau (which is Welsh for "below the steps", referring to the stepped cliffs above the village). The Moelwyn Mountains protect the village from much of the wind from northerly gales in the winter and give the village a pleasant southerly aspect with relatively mild weather considering its location high in Snowdonia. The village of Tanygrisiau is approximately one mile from the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, or the 'Slate Capital of the World'. The famous Ffestiniog Railway, (a historic narrow gauge railway built to carry slate from the mines down to the port to be shipped at Porthmadog) runs right past the front door of Penllwyn! From March through to November, you can catch the steam train from Bleanau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog and enjoy a historic ride through some spectacular scenery. Blaenau Ffestiniog has a number of shops, cafes and take-aways. It is also home to the renowned Llechwedd Slate Cavern, and the numerous Zip World activities. Penllwyn is also a great starting point for many walks, including climbing Moelwyn Mountain. A great base for exploring the area; Coed-y-Brenin, (one of the best mountain bike centres in the UK), Betws-y-Coed, Portmeirion, Porthmadog and Bala are all within a 30 minute drive.
