Montrose Farm is the ideal escape to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind. The comforts of our classic country cottage combined with warm hospitality & natural beauty is just the right combination for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Charming and cosy, Sheepwash Cottage is very private and comfortably furnished. The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four people. It features two bedrooms, one queen bedroom and the other bedroom having the option of two single beds that can be converted to a king size bed upon prior request. The cottage has a fully equipped modern kitchen, bathroom, laundry and a fireplace in the living room. On the deck you can relax in the spa and enjoy the rural views. The grounds are landscaped to include a fire pit for outdoor cooking, a chicken pen for collecting your breakfast eggs and a herb garden to add farm fresh flavours to your cooking.
Basic breakfast supplies are included in the tariff. This includes coffee, tea, milk, juice, cereal, bread and homemade jams. A Farmers Breakfast basket, for you to cook at your convenience, can be arranged at the time of booking. This includes local products: smoky bacon rashers, award winning beef sausages, Montrose eggs, tomatoes and juice. Cost is $15.00 per person per day payable at check in.
Pamper Packages are also available at the cottage. Services including massage and beauty treatments are provided by a fully qualified therapist.

Our neighbourhood offers a broad range of experiences for photographers, nature lovers, bush walkers, lovers of fine food and wine and history buffs.
Suggested day trips:
• Take a scenic drive to Goomburra National Park (approx 30 minutes) for a picnic, bush walking and bird watching. Walking tracks are graded according to your fitness and time.
• Visit Allora, our local village, which is only a 10 minute drive from the farm. It is aptly known as “The Best Little Town on the Downs”. Walk the Heritage Trail, which includes the house that inspired PL Travers character, Mary Poppins. Revive at one of the local coffee shops or drive on to Glengallen Homestead & Heritage Centre for an historical tour. The Darling Downs Zoo at Pilton is only 15 minutes north of Allora and well worth a visit.
•Head off for a day touring the high altitude vineyards and cellar doors of the Granite Belt Winery Country. Stop off at Thulimbah and sample the handmade cheeses at Stanthorpe Cheeses or Apple Pie at Sutton’s Juice Factory; Zest Bakery in Stanthorpe for the best pastries and coffee and the Bramble Patch at Glen Aplin for preserves and berry desserts.
•Drive the Cedar Tourist Route through nearby farming land and villages on your way to Killarney and then on to Queen Mary Falls. Here you can picnic, explore the National Park tracks and feed the lorikeets. Venture on to Carr’s Lookout for stunning views over the Scenic Rim and refreshments or lunch at Spring Creek Café.
•Warwick is only a 30 minute drive and renowned for its heritage buildings, roses and rodeo. As you drive over the Condamine River into the town you will also find a statue of “Tiddalick” on the banks the river. The book about this legend is in the Cottage bookcase. Visit Pringle Cottage Museum, the Australian Rodeo Heritage Centre or book a Steam Train tour.
