Minutes from Twin Falls historic downtown, this bright, renovated studio in a historic home is a perfect starting point for your activities in southern Idaho. Easy walking access to Twin Falls city park, local downtown brewpubs and coffee shops. You'll be hosted by a knowledgeable, flexible, hospitable, and friendly family in a safe and quiet neighborhood. This spot is perfect for traveling professionals, families, or a quiet couple's getaway. We want to make your stay as pleasant as possible!
Our space is a bright, fully remodeled basement studio apartment with a private entrance, and off-street parking, just a few blocks from historic downtown. It is important to note that THERE ARE STAIRS down to the apartment, and our family lives upstairs, so YOU WILL PROBABLY HEAR OUR FAMILY during normal daytime hours. If you let us know when you have arrived, we will try to stay out of the bonus room above the apartment as much as possible. We do our best to provide as much privacy and peace and quiet as we can for our guests.
We designed and renovated the space, with the intent of preserving the character of our 1920s home, while integrating modern upgrades for comfort. Keep in mind that this is a 100-year old house and there may be some minor noises from the pipes and floors. Earplugs are provided if you need absolute silence to sleep. Also, please note that the BATHROOM AND SHOWER STALL ARE VERY COMPACT and aren’t ideal for those who need a lot of space to move around in the bathroom.
Please take a moment to browse through the welcome binder when you arrive. It contains information about the apartment, answers to frequently asked questions, and our recommendations for local eateries and attractions. There is also a photo album in the apartment with some before and after photos of the space if you are interested. The binder contains detailed information about the ins and outs of the apartment as well as user manuals for the appliances and the futon, so check there first if you have a question, it's likely we've addressed it. That said, don't hesitate to contact us, we're happy to help!
There is a smart TV so you can access your Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc. or sling play easily to the TV from your smart phone.
This apartment is small but family-friendly. The futon couch folds out into a full sized bed, and we have a full sized air mattress, bassinet, and pack-and-play in the closet. There is also a baby gate for the stairs, a few toys and books, some games, and a stroller to help keep little ones occupied. Let us know the size of your party and any special needs you may have. We recommend no more than 3-4 adults or 2 adults/3-4 kids, but we also know how it is to travel on a budget with a big family!
There is not air conditioning in the basement, but it does stay quite cool in the summer, especially if the windows are open at night, and the blinds are closed during the day. There is a fan in the closet if you need it. The apartment stays very warm during the winter, and there are extra blankets and a space heater provided.
There is a fully equipped kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, stove, toaster, teapot, and Keurig. Feel free to cook up a storm, just make sure to leave the kitchen as you found it and wash any dishes used.
You are welcome to utilize the outside gravel side yard, which is fully fenced. There is a fire pit, table and chairs, and a porch swing on a little patch of shaded grass.
Traveling professionals are welcome and will be given a discounted rate for stays longer than a week. Please contact us for details and availability.
We love our neighborhood, and we think you will too! Historic downtown is flourishing, with new local businesses opening regularly. We've provided lots of recommendations for local establishments and menus in our apartment's AirBnB binder.
We are one block from the Twin Falls City Park and Library, 7 blocks from downtown and 10 blocks from our local climbing gym. There is a grocery market within walking distance (about 5 blocks away)
During the summer, there is a downtown Farmer's Market on Saturdays, and free community concerts on Wednesday nights at the Downtown Commons. The Twin Falls Municipal Band plays at the city park on Thursday evenings from May-August.
Outdoor recreation abounds in southern Idaho. There are plenty of opportunities for biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, fishing, and even BASE jumping. There are lots of beautiful sights to see. Don't leave town without seeing Shoshone Falls and crossing the Snake River Canyon on the Perrine Bridge (watch for BASE jumpers from all over the world!)
