Within a few moments stroll around the village you will find the Islands oldest public house which serves food daily, a well stocked village shop, a pharmacist, a butcher and a petrol station. The beach is a short walk away and there are a variety of different activities available nearby such a pony trekking, rambling and cycle ways. The house is set in a lovely sunny position on a quiet side road and has a lovey rear garden with views of the church tower.

The property is situated just a short distance from miles of sandy beaches, near to Kirk Michael on the north west coast of the Isle of Man. We know you will be delighted when you arrive at Close Taggart. These two gold award holiday cottages, Thie Rhennie ("House of Ferns") and Thie Lough ("House of the Lake") can be found well off the beaten track, deep in the countryside, about two miles from the nearest small supermarket, bus routes and village, and six from the nearest town (Ramsey). Thie Rhennie has one bedroom and provides the perfect setting for a special break for two. The owners live on site and will be on hand to greet you and provide any assistance you require, you will have total freedom to enjoy the extensive grounds of Close Taggart which includes a tree house and viewing platform high up in the trees, where you can sit and enjoy a complementary glass of wine. In addition, a further viewing platform provides fabulous views of the setting sun to the west. There is also a summerhouse for guests to use. The holiday cottages are a great base for nature lovers. The Curraghs where the cottages are located, is an area of wetland and a rich haven of biodiversity with rare flora and fauna. Wild wallabies, normally found in warmer climes, are also thriving here. The animals, native to Australia and Tasmania, have been flourishing ever since a pair escaped in the 1970s from the Curraghs wildlife park, a short distance from the cottages. Researchers believe now there are more than a 100 living in the wild. It is possible to see wallabies living in the wild on one of the short walks from the cottages. We are very willing to assist with mobility issues, but unfortunately we are unable to accommodate full time wheel chair users due to the layout of the cottage. You can park close to the entrance, with a gravel/grassed area and cobblestones leading to two small entrance steps. Inside the cottage the kitchen and lounge are on the ground floor with normal width stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Surrounded by pine forests and the Tholt-y-Will Waterfall Glen, Tholt-y-Will B&B boasts one of the most stunning and idyllic locations in the Isle of Man, whilst being only 15 minutes drive to both Ramsey in the north and our capital, Douglas.
The house itself is set in three acres of private grounds and our guests are free to enjoy the garden and seating area, which is set into the banks of the passing river.

'Breesha's Cottage' is a recently rescued traditional Manx stone cottage. In Ballaugh Village just 50m off the famous Ballaugh Bridge on the TT circuit, with fabulous views of the hills above Sulby Glen. A beautiful spot for relaxing, walking, cycling or watching the motorsports. A local shop just 50m away and a great pub at the end of the lane . A lovely quiet sandy/pebbly beach is 2 miles away and great walks in the hills just up the lane to the glen. IOM tourism registered- 4 star.
Deceptively spacious 3 bedroom cottage on a quite road. Nice garden with views across fields to the hills above Sulby Glen beyond and a patio to relax. The cottage has recently been fully renovated from a derelict state and is now a registered property with the Isle of Man Tourist Board. We have spared no expense in retaining the character features of the cottage that we fell in love with. We haven't compromised on comfort though. There is an open fire in the lounge and a log burner in the dining room/snug area as well as central heating throughout. A fully stocked kitchen with all mod cons that you would expect. There is also wifi a TV with freeview and an Amazon Firestick, Bluetooth enabled sound system. We are in the process of registering as a 4 star property with the Isle of Man Tourist Board. The neighbourhood is very friendly and quiet. At the end of the lane there is a great pub - the Raven that serves good food which is a 50m walk and directly across the road from this is the local village shop which sells just about everything you need. The nearest supermarket is in Ramsey which is about 6 or 7 miles away. The lovely quiet pebbly beach is around 2 miles away. Its not unusual to walk along it for an hour in either direction and see just 1 or two people. We normally see more seals than people! The house is situated on the road up to the glen where there is a plantation with family walks as well as tracks up onto the hills. There are tons of opportunities for longer walks. There are also loads of mountain biking tracks. If you want to watch the TT racing or Manx Grand prix then you won't be disappointed. The famous Ballaugh Bridge is just at the end of the lane. We are located on the inside of the course so you get 'locked inside' during the racing but handily you can get across to the mountain road by driving/cycling (if you're brave) up the road and across the mountain lanes to another fantastic viewing point.

Rose Cottage has been a holiday let since 2007. It is close to the historic village of St John's, rural countryside, Ballacraine corner on the TT course and the city of Peel and it's beach . You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, original features, south facing aspect and the history. The cottage is centrally located and ideal for exploring the island.
This is a compact 1900 traditional stone built Manx cottage which is ideal for two people but can accommodate four with a second small bedroom containing adult size bunk beds. The galley kitchen is well appointed and includes a washing machine and a small dining area. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a newly fitted walk in shower. The master bedroom has a double bed, while the small second bedroom has bunk beds for two people. On arrival the beds are freshly made and towels provided. The garden has a patio and space equipped for outdoor dining. This area catches the sun due to it's south facing aspect. Off-road parking can accommodate two cars. The shed offers secure storage for motorbikes and cycles. The cottage is situated on a bend and care should be taken when reversing into the drive and only turn left on exit.
This is a rural location, one third of a mile from St Johns. Sited near the Douglas to Peel Heritage Footpath which runs along the disused railway line. The TT course is one mile away with the nearest vantage point being Ballacraine corner.

This is a traditional Victorian house built in 1901, as such it combines large living areas, beautiful corniced ceilings and other Victorian features together with all modern amenities for guests comfort. The house has a large garden on 3 sides of the house and maximises the sunny aspects.
This is a quiet residential suburb of Ramsey, but within a mile of the town and harbour with a footpath to the lovely Mooragh Park and amenities. Ramsey itself has a lovely highstreet with many independent shops and eateries. The house is outside the TT course which means you are able to access other areas of the island during races.

East Ballabane is a traditional Manx farmhouse in a wonderful position overlooking the coast and farmland in the north of the Isle of Man, as well as the Ayres Nature Reserve. The area surrounding Ballabane is excellent for walking, cycling, and bird-watching. A site of major ecological significance, parts of the Ayres have been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest and as a National Nature Reserve.

The Swallows is a spacious and well equipped self-catering cottage situated with three other cottages in a recently renovated barn conversion. Close to the spectacular west coast of the Isle of Man with coastal paths, secluded bays, hills and panoramic views on the doorstep. It is the perfect location for those looking for a quiet and peaceful base to experience the great outdoors. The Swallows sleeps six people in three bedrooms, which are on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms can be configured either as a super-kingsize double room, or as a twin bedroom. The first floor offers beautiful countryside views with a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, and a large high ceiling living room with exposed beams and a wood burning stove. There is underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump. The cottage shares a gym, sauna and steam room with the other cottages in the barn conversion which can be booked for private use at various times during your stay. This is under development and is aiming to be open by August 2018. For larger groups this property can be booked alongside "The Hawthorns" and "The Fuchsias" which are interlinking and each also sleep 6 people. An immaculate ground floor apartment in the heart of Laxey Village in the Isle of Man. Idyllic and private location next to the Manx Electric Railway tram station, a stream, pubs and shops. Perfect for a lovely and quiet get away. Featuring a large open plan kitchen and lounge dining area the property is a spacious place for a couple, the large corner sofa can also be set up as a sofa bed as required to sleep another person. The apartment has been carefully renovated from an old workshop (May 2019) and is very bright with large double french doors with views towards Laxey and the village church. Located right beneath the Manx Electric Railway you can hear them go past along with the river that runs along side the road across from the property. Laxey is a wonderful village about 10-15 minutes from Douglas and the ferries and about 30-40 minutes from the airport. The apartment is located in the heart of the village and just a short walk to shops, pubs and the famous Manx Electric Railway! In fact, the apartment is located just under the tram bridge and you can hear the quaint toot-toot of the old Victorian trams. Laxey harbour is about a 10 - 15 minute walk and has a great beach. Just located across the road is a river that runs from the Laxey flour mills to the Laxey can hear it from the apartment. Laxey is famous for the Lady Isabella or Laxey Wheel - the largest working waterwheel in the world. There are many beautiful walks just outside the apartment's doorstep up the Laxey Garden Glen. Lovely traditional 4 Star Manx fisherman's stone cottage located in the heart of Peel Conservation area. Close to stunning beaches and pubs, restaurants and local shops/ amenities. This Manx Tourism registered 2 bedroomed self catering cottage accommodates 4 comfortably in a king sized bedroom and double bedroom. We are open all year round, available for short breaks with a minimum stay of 2 nights. Children over 5 are welcome and so are up to 2 well behaved smaller breed dogs/ service dogs.
The cottage is a recently renovated but traditional property with a new bathroom and kitchen. Full central heating, bed linen and towels are provided along with tea and coffee (and a welcome pack for stays of 3 days or longer), dog towels/ bowls etc. There is a multifuel stove for winter nights. The bathroom is compact but has a bath with an electric shower above the bath, w.c and basin with shaver point. The cottage accommodation is set over 2 storeys (ground floor lounge and kitchen dining and small outside sitting area/ bike store, first floor bedrooms and bathroom) with 12 fairly steep steps. Because of the constraints of size and the stairs, the cottage would not be suitable for full time wheelchair users or some mobility problems.
The cottage is located on a quiet one way street close to the town centre and beach. Peel is simply beautiful in itself. Whatever the weather there are places to to eat, drink and to go to. My favourites are the beaches and walks around the castle with views out to Ireland and Scotland across an ever changing sea- with a hot coffee and freshly caught seafood from the breakwater kiosk to complete the treat. For those who like good food there are several excellent restaurants in Peel, good pub grub and craft beers. The House of Manannan visitor centre which is open all year is an excellent starting point for learning of the story of Mann. Our house is located in the beautiful village of Agneash, a mile from Laxey (as featured in the Julia Bradbury Britain's Best Walks programme). We enjoy wonderful views over Snaefell and Laxey. It is a genuine rural idyll just below the only mountain on the island. We have four bedrooms available: two singles, a small double room and a bigger double room. Please note that we (the owners) live on the premises. Also from 12/06/20 to 28/06/20 only one double room is available due to decorating.
The comfortable and cosy atmosphere of this cottage beckons you to visit. This is the ideal place to take long walks and succumb to the enchanting beauty of the surrounding area. It is also only a 20 minutes' drive to Douglas for those who are just after a base. When possible, we can arrange lifts. The house has a very private back garden with decking and a large lawn. Ample off road parking is available opposite the house where a van could fit in.
Agneash occupies an excellent elevated position with great views. There are many picnic areas. It is heaven for walkers. There are four restaurants and three pubs nearby, and great glens to walk in. When possible, we are happy to give lifts to local restaurants. We know you will be delighted when you arrive at Close Taggart. These two gold award holiday cottages, Thie Rhennie ("House of Ferns") and Thie Lough ("House of the Lake") can be found well off the beaten track, deep in the countryside, about two miles from the nearest small supermarket, bus routes and village, and six from the nearest town (Ramsey). Thie Lough has one bedroom and provides the perfect setting for a special break for two. The owners live on site and will be on hand to greet you and provide any assistance you require, you will have total freedom to enjoy the extensive grounds of Close Taggart which includes a tree house and viewing platform high up in the trees, where you can sit and enjoy a complementary glass of wine. In addition, a further viewing platform provides fabulous views of the setting sun to the west. There is also a summerhouse for guests to use. The holiday cottages are a great base for nature lovers. The Curraghs where the cottages are located, is an area of wetland and a rich haven of biodiversity with rare flora and fauna. Wild wallabies, normally found in warmer climes, are also thriving here. The animals, native to Australia and Tasmania, have been flourishing ever since a pair escaped in the 1970s from the Curraghs wildlife park, a short distance from the cottages. Researchers believe now there are more than a 100 living in the wild. It is possible to see wallabies living in the wild on one of the short walks from the cottages. We are very willing to assist with mobility issues, but unfortunately we are unable to accommodate full time wheel chair users due to the layout of the cottage. You can park close to the entrance, with a gravel/grassed area and cobblestones leading to two small entrance steps. Inside the cottage the kitchen and lounge are on the ground floor with normal width stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Ballaugh Beach one and half miles.
Fabulous position on the world famous TT Course with a cracking view of Ballaugh Bridge. Check out the various photos to see how close you are to the action. Easy access to Mountain section up Ballaugh Glen even when the course is closed. Also to Sulby and Ramsey via Jurby on the coast road. YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE CROSSING TO OPEN TO REGAIN ACCESS TO THE COTTAGE ONCE THE ROADS HAVE BEEN CLOSED THOUGH.
The Raven serves excellent food and is just across the road. Lots of guests have recommended it. I ate there recently and was impressed! Ballaugh beach is close by with ample free parking or a mile and a half walk.
