Portholland, Englanti, Britannia

Due to Covid19 UK lockdown we would recommend getting in contact with us before booking to check on availability. Dates up to 3rd July are blocked. Stunning studio loft apartment situated just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the Sea. Self contained, self catering with kitchen. Private access to apartment from Top Road. High spec finish within. Wifi with all the mod cons! Minimum night stay varies seasonally.
Wake up to the sea at the end of your bed! Some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft. Always cleaned to a very high standard.
Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your summer holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 30 years but honestly, it really is! Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from the house. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop is a good size and has everything you might need with daily deliveries of fresh food as well as a post office. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. The Blue Plate restaurant is stunning and very popular locally with an excellent reputation for good food and service, it also has a deli that is open daily. Downderry beach is just 100 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with a few pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks so plenty to do. Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and. Stones throw from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound. Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic. To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. I would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice. To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive. Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). All but Morrisons do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here. So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.

The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Lestitha Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor. Liskeard is also the starting point of the Liskeard to Looe railway, one of the most scenic railway trips in the country and a delightful day out! Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A 30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. The National Lobster Hatchery at Padstow neighbours Rick Steins empire on the North Coast. The Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the first steam operated railway in Cornwall, takes in 13 miles of countryside. Also just outside Bodmin is the Camel Valley Vineyard who have been winning awards for their home grown wine for the past 20 years. The National Trust have a number of properties nearby - Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Cotehele and Antony (used for Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project in St Austell. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. To the east is the Tamar Valley, a stunning, quiet, picturesque region with some beautiful villages including Calstock with its impressive Viaduct dominating the village, Calstock Quay was originally used for transportation of tin as there is a deep water navigable channel at the top of the tides, although the construction of the Tamar Valley Railway in the early 20th century led to most cargo being transported by rail. Further up stream is Morwellham Quay with its fantastic open air museum, Morwellham Quay has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO, the cultural arm of the UN, and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Originally set up by the Benedictine Monks from Tavistock Abbey in 961 as a trading route to Plymouth via the Tamar. Tavistock is an ancient stannary and market town on the edge of Dartmoor and just across the border in Devon, it has a wealth of fine pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.

Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.

Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.

It nestles alongside the upper tidal reaches of the Fowey River which flows past the property. For those wishing to visit the delights of places such as The Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey, this is the area for you, located on the Eastern side of St Austell. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan towards Mevagissey, and Lanhydrock National Trust House & Gardens a short drive inland it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple drive to the coast past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall's hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centering around St Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey Rover meandering through the centre of the town. St Austell was once the major producer of the world's China Clay; now with cheaper foreign imports, the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The Eden Project hosts many bands throughout the season as well as featuring an Ice Rink out of season.Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30, is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty, reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point.

Small double bedroom with adjacent private bathroom in a modern and professional home. The bedroom itself is relatively small however perfectly suitable for one person. South facing and decorated in neutral colours the room has an airy feel to it, you’ll find a small double (4ft / 1.2m wide) bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress, single mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, a side table and one bedside cabinet.
The room is laid out with the bed against the wall so as to allow more space for moving around. If this is not an issue you may find that it is suitable for two people. Other items in the room include; Touch lamp on bed side cabinet, television with Freeview, hairdryer, iron & ironing Board, oversized king-sized light weight duvet and four pillows. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is used only by this room, it has a toilet, basin and bath with shower over, also in the bath room you will find the following; Bath towel, hand towel, flannel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner & toilet roll. It may be possible for you to use the washing machine but please confirm this first and bear in mind there is only an outside washing line for drying so you’ll need to time the weather right! It is a modern semi-detached three-bedroom house positioned at the end of the close and subsequently has a calm and relaxing feel to it, the house is clean, tidy and well-presented and I am very lucky to have lovely neighbours. I live here with my three cats, Josie, Tilly & Teddy who are naturally convinced that they are in charge and subsequently roam freely (please keep your doors closed if you don't want to have guests of your own). There is a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals – just be sure to load the dishwasher and try to be finished by ten so that I can get my beauty sleep! Opposite the house is a dedicated private and off-road drive for you to park a car. The back garden is split over two levels, please feel free to make use of the top level where you’ll find a selection of garden furniture available on the lawn. Please feel free to use the sitting room during the working week days, I do reserve this to myself for the evening and weekends though. House requests Other than respecting the non-smoking policy please just be mindful of the time and noise levels within the house after 10pm If you wish to stay up chatting after this then the conservatory off the kitchen is a great relaxed place for this.
The house is built on a recent housing development in Par, Par is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south Cornish coast set between Charlestown and Fowey.

A quirky rough and ready working artist studio, 12min walk to Lostwithiel Station. Behind the house is access to beautiful woodland walks, Restormel castle and down the hill to the historic town of Lostwithiel with local shops and attractions. This will be our first summer and we look forward to sharing our studio Open plan kitchen , oven, hob, and fridge. Your own shower room and outside deck. The studio feels like a tree house, closer to camping than luxury hotel
Relaxed space, the garden is large, steep and wild. We can give you great insights on beaches and walks. Please be aware that this is an organic garden and there is plenty of insect life inside and out. That includes spiders. If we don't like a bug inside we take it outside. We want everyone to enjoy their stay but our space may be too rough for some. All towels and bedding will be fresh, the space will be cleaned and bins emptied but it’s more shabby chic than pristine.
We moved to Lostwithiel from London 12 years ago, Tim grew up locally and knows he area well. It's a great location easliy reached by train or car, Lostwithiel has 5 pubs, library and several restaurants, the river is good for swimming and there are plenty of walks.Lostwithiel has a good selection of local shops coop open 10pm 7days, butchers, bakers and deli and some unique antique and craft shops.Surfing 30mins to north coast, 15 mins local beaches

The Barn in Lanhydrock is the kind of space you immediately settle into and feel at home. Once part of the Lanhydrock Estate The Barn has all the mod cons and guest friendly features you could want as well as retaining a lot of its original character. The barn is pet friendly meaning your four-legged friend can come along and enjoy a break too. The Barn has something for everyone you can listen to music on the Sonos speaker, let the kids play the Xbox in their room or enjoy the relax outside whilst drinking your morning coffee. If you can bear to drag yourself way from the comfort of the barn its position is almost equidistant from both the north and South coasts of Cornwall. Days by the beach near Padstow or a visit to historic Charlestown are both less than half an hour away with an abundance of other Cornish highlights never far away. The Lanhyrock Estate is only five minutes from the front door giving you lots of options to enjoy. For the truly adventurous among you Cardinham Woods is about five miles away where you can enjoy lots of woodland walks, one of the numerous bike trails and top it off with a tasty treat in the pet friendly woodland cafe. The modern and stylish, The Barn in Lanhydrock is a fantastic base for exploring he best of Cornwall, although we get the sneaking suspicion that the comfortable and homely barn might well be the star of the show.

Rambling Rose is a traditional gypsy ‘Bow Top’ caravan where you can escape the stresses and strains of modern living with a relaxing and unusual holiday. If you've ever dreamt of a more simple life, living off the land, but with a dash of glamour tinged with the romance of life on the road, then Rambling Rose Caravan could be just the place for you! The gypsy caravan is situated in a secluded corner of Delancey House gardens. It’s also a quick walk downhill to the nearby town of Lostwithiel.
‘Rambling Rose’ Gypsy caravan was originally built in Penzance in the 1930s and has been lovingly restored to its former glory by a talented Cornish craftsman using traditional methods passed down through generations. This Romany caravan contains many beautiful authentic features - some of the original paintwork can still be seen on the original pot box at the back of the wagon. We have painted the wagon using traditional art techniques to show stunning scroll work and rambling roses. It has been a real joy to do and we are so pleased with the result! As well as the wood-burning stove, pull-out double bed, and beautifully painted woodwork, you'll also find a modern cooking hob, brass paraffin lamps and cosy soft furnishings. This all adds a little touch of luxury to help you feel even more comfortable on your stay. The caravan comes with its own private cottage garden and panoramic views over the surrounding rural area, and is sited in a secluded corner of Delancey House’s private family gardens. This unique and exclusive location only adds to the overall experience of ‘getting away from it all’. There is a pull-out double bed and also a child’s bed in the caravan suitable for a young child - but a tent pitch is available for older children in the private paddock which lies beyond the garden to the front of the caravan. We provide all cooking utensils for the outdoor campfire (with cooking tripod) or indoor hob cooking as well as a delicious welcome hamper! Towels are included for your use in our small but perfectly formed WC / shower room which is located separately from the gypsy caravan within a private courtyard behind Delancey House. Please note that the towels are not for beach use. There is also a fridge for your use in a separate utility room nearby. So if you're after a bit of romance, or just something a little bit different, why not sit on the painted caravan steps, listen to the sound of the birds and watch the natural world go by. Once the sun has set over the valley, you will see the incredible stars over delancey, completely unobstructed by light pollution, a truly incredible sight. Our Gypsy Caravan ‘Rambling Rose’ is situated in a secluded corner within the private grounds of Delancey House near the beautiful historic town of Lostwithiel in Cornwall. The beautiful gardens of Delancey are a site to behold with an abundance of colour on all sides and throughout all seasons. They are well established with old apple trees, hedges of lavender, rambling wild roses and the prize winning “Azalea Walk” which is truly a sight to behold in early May. There is a small and secluded cottage garden to the front of the caravan which is private to the caravan and perfect for that relaxing evening glass of wine or for eating al fresco, and you are sure to meet our friendly Robin who is always on the lookout for food! From your garden and the paddock in front of you (which also belongs to Delancey House) you will see stunning far reaching views over the Fowey River Valley, with the meandering Fowey River and the beautiful town of Lostwithiel spreading out before you. To the left hand side there is a panoramic view across beautiful rolling countryside with distant views of Bodmin Moor and in the foreground the Medieval Restormel Castle. Nick and Poppy look forward to welcoming you to our Cornish Gypsy Caravan!

The village is quiet and is located within central Cornwall on the south coast. Fowey, known for its sailing and restaurants is a 10 minute drive away, and the Eden Project is even closer. In close proximity to the historic picturesque port of Charlestown, home to the world famous Tall Ships and a popular filming location for Poldark this really is a perfect location for a base, from where you may discover the wonders which Cornwall has to offer. Par is an extremely popular village with an excellent range of local amenities including a library, pharmacy, doctors surgery, post office, general stores, public houses, churches/chapels and a local supermarket. In the neighbouring village of Tywardreath, famed by Daphne du Maurier as being The House On The Strand, there is an independent award-winning butchers shop. The beautiful south Cornish coast with its golden sandy beaches is just a 5 - 10 minute stroll away.
  • Upea paikka, erittäin puhdas ja hyvin sisustettu. täydellinen Eden-projektille ja Foweylle. Näin Airb & b on kyse.

  • Talo on hyvä koko, jopa 4 aikuiselle, kaikella mitä tarvitset tuntemaan olosi kotoisaksi.
