A Room in the Board House - near the heart of Woodsfield, Ohio, in Amish country, offers a quiet retreat within walking distance of the village amenities. See my other listing for The Board House for photos of the rooms.
Located in Amish country, miles from anywhere, on the edge of the Wayne National Forest. This two-story, 1864 antebellum mansion is just outside the heart of Woodsfield. Available select weekends.
This is as unique a house as you will find. Each bedroom is spacious with huge four-poster beds and color-themed decor. The bathrooms each have their own personality, from a cedar-lined all-in-one with a huge rainmaker shower head to a rustic stand alone with claw-foot tube. The theater room was great to watch a movie. The host was gracious, helpful and interesting. Communication was quick and thorough. We went looking to have family time, and he became one of the family, all the while assuring us that he would give us as much privacy as we needed. Though we didn't have time to take advantage of it, Wayne National Forest is literally next door and there is beautiful country all around. We're looking forward to our next stay!
