We hope we have thought of everything to make you stay a relaxing and memorable one. We have 1 acre garden at the back of the house whilst from the front of the house you have spectacular views of the ox mountains which are a constantly changing artwork and you may be lucky to get a dramatic sunset over them.

You are situation in an excellent location just 15 to 20 mins from knock airport and not far from any of the main tourist areas. Locally there is a golf course in Tubbercurry and visitors are most welcome. The river Moy is only a short distance from the cottage which is know as one of the finest rivers in Ireland for fishing. The tourist information in town will point you in the right direction for permits etc.
Pony Trekking is on the outskirts of the town at Banada which is steeped in history. (Ballina road R294)
Tubbercurry is a vibrant little town with a good selection of places to eat and drink. Keep an eye out for traditional music nights in the local pubs, they will give you the true flavour of this unspoilt region.
If walking is your thing you are so spoilt for choice we recommend you buy a guide, there are lots of leaflets in the cottage to direct you. The walks are out of this world. You may want to walk the Ox mountains (lots of trails), Lough Talt (walk around the lake), the list goes on.
The beach at Strandhill is about 25 mins drive and plays host to some of the finest surfing in the area. Surf schools are also available locally should you wish to learn. Other beaches are dotted along the coast including Inniscrone (what a drive through the mountains to get there) a must see.
Lough Talt : 10 mins drive with lots of fishing and water sports.
Lough Easkey: 20 min of a spectacular drive to this amazing part of the world, with Mass rock and adventure park.
Lough Gill: 30mins Head for Sligo town and along the winding roads to Innisfree (WB Yeats)

Westport: Slightly further a field (45mins) you can head west to the upbeat town of Westport where you can follow in the footsteps of our patron Saint Patrick and climb the mountain named in his honour. The view from the top is out of this world! I recently drove from Westport to Leenaun, please do this drive OMG amazing!!
Galway is an hours drive away and well worth a visit.
Knock Shrine is also nearby just 20 minutes the other side of the airport. This again is a ‘must visit’ destination in this part of Ireland. There is so much to see and do in this area that one visit will not be enough.
