Our vacation cabins are located near Payson and Show-Low, halfway between Christopher Creek and Heber-Overgaard on SR-260, centered in the Mogollon Rim Lakes area
Forest Lakes is a true four-season vacation retreat only hours from Phoenix. At an elevation of 7570 feet, we enjoy cool summers, colorful falls, snow laden winters, spring fishing and always a relaxing get-away. We are not on the highway with the Sitgreaves National Forest at our back door!
Rustic Rim Hideaway provides fabulous vacation rental cabins in Arizona. There are three cabins on the one acre, this listing is for private exclusive use of only one of the three cabins. The other two cabins are reserved for other guests.
We are near the Woods Canyon Lake area, about 36 miles east of Payson in the small town of Forest Lakes. At an elevation of 7570', we have cool summers, colorful falls, snow-covered winters, and always a great get-away. We are not on the highway, and the Sitegreaves National Forest is at our back door, with thousands of acres.
The cabins are CLEAN FULLY FURNISHED, two-story, five room "A"-frames about 800 square feet total with a porch in front. The 3BR is six rooms, 1000 square feet with an additional bedroom downstairs. All cabins are knotty-pine and carpeted. Downstairs is the porch, living area, dinette, kitchen, and bath.
Upstairs rear bedroom ( open loft) comes with two single (twin-size) beds. Upstairs front bedroom provides a queen bed. All beds are comfortable firm. Linens, blankets, and pillows are provided for the beds (except when pets are brought you must bring your own blankets). There is a child gate to place at the top of the steps for little ones.
The bath contains a shower/bath combination (ideal for infants and adults) and pastel towels. If you require more than one set per person, please bring extra towels as we only supply one set for each person for your stay. Each cabin has a 20 gallon hot water heater. Sorry, we do not provide maid or linen service during your stay.
The kitchen contains a FULL-SIZE refrigerator, a FULL-SIZE range/oven, microwave, electric coffee maker, coffee filters, toaster, two basin sink, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, glasses, tumblers, wine-glasses, utensils such as can-opener, bottle-opener, wine-bottle opener, pizza-cutter, tongs, knives, cutting board, cheese-grater, potato-masher, ladels, wire-wisk, measuring cups/spoons, ice-trays, cookie-sheet, tupperware, pitchers, and steak-knives! All kitchen items are double-cleansed and sanitized prior to your use! Also provided are dish-soap, sos-pads, dish-cloths & towels and trashbags! Thats a carload of kitchen stuff you don't have to pack or forget! You don't even have to buy charcoal or lighter fluid, since a gas-grill is provided! Next to the kitchen is the dinette set.
The living area has TV with free DirecTV satellite including Disney and Nickelodeon, sofa and fireplace with flagstone hearth. The fireplace is the primary source of heat, and it will definitely keep it toasty inside. We provide you with plenty firewood and kindling already split (for the interior fireplace only). There is electric baseboard heat in the bedrooms.
Each cabin has a patio table with 4 chairs out front. Night-lights and emergency lighting are provided in each cabin.
In the COMMON AREA, for all guests to use, is a seasonal horseshoe set, seasonal fire-pit for marshmallow and weenie roasts. There are not any laundry facilities or telephones in the cabins. Cell phones are much improved at the cabins.
Parking is physically limited to two vehicles per cabin, so please carpool if you have large groups. If bringing a trailer with UTV consider this as a vehicle.
All cabins are non-smoking cabins, however you may smoke outside.
You do need to bring paper-towels, napkins, aluminum-foil, saran-wrap, roasting pans, oversize kettles, rolling-pins, pie-pans, bread or muffin pans, blenders, dish gloves, spices (salt, pepper, sugar, etc.), coffee, cooking-oil, ice, food, blankets for your beds if you bring pets, campfire wood and any tv/game adapters.

Backs National Forest, hiking right out the back door. Forest road 99 comes in behind the cabins.
