Wonderful seaside town. Long stretches of sandy / pebbly beach. Fantastic local shops in the high street (please support!) including the Two Magpies bakery, Chapmans newsagents and gifts, Collen and Clare clothes boutique, Mills and Sons butchers and Tilley and Grace clothes.
The Under the Pier show on Southwold Pier is great fun! As is the afternoon tea on the Pier - incredible! Go hungry...
Southwold Fish Company ( up the road from the famous Lord Nelson pub), - bests fish and chips, takeaway only.
If the queue is too big there, head to the Red Lion pub where they do really good fish and chips. The harbour is another cracking spot with Mrs T's and the Sole Bay Fish Co.
Southwold is full of superb pubs and restaurants. We recommend The Sail Loft, Sutherland House, Coasters, The Crown (service can be a bit dodgy), The Swan (lovely interiors, but service not always great).

Stunning church ooozing with history. Superb pub just across the road (The White Hart - recommend ordering the 'iffits'). Beautiful estuary walks.

Now home to the Freud family and lots of their showbiz friends, this town is very pretty and with a couple of cracking pubs. Also brilliant for crabbing!
