Sightseeing

The Clam Gulch beach is close by our rental and is a great place to see Eagles and the local set net fishery in the summer months. You can also beach comb for shells, pretty rocks and agates. The Cook Inlet has one of the most extreme tides. On a low tide you can walk out on the mud flats (with boots) and see clams holes and sea creatures.

If you like art, this is a beautiful hidden gallery on your way to Homer. Norman is an Alaskan who is legally blind, but creates master pieces. He also has an old Alaskan homestead that he lets guests tour.

Kasilof Museum
The Kasilof Museum is a small museum with old cabins and artifacts. My father, Mike Wiley, used to volunteer here a lot restoring cabins and educating guests on the history of our area. They have a walking trail here in his memory.

Homer is a small town where I was born. The Kachemak Bay is beautiful and there are pull off areas along the way to Homer for pictures. The Spit is a long area of land that goes out into the Inlet. There are tourist shops and restaurants along the Spit. The harbor is also fun to stop at and see what the fisherman bring in.
