Can't beat the views here. Eat lunch at the very top level for slightly more affordable fare. The bar/seating area on the second floor still gets you stunning views without the elements (great for windy or rainy days).

Parks & Nature
The beach out front of the Catamaran (bay side) is equipped with loungers and umbrellas all available to the public for free! Great for families with little ones who don't want to brave the sun or the waves on the ocean side. Get there early in summer months to snag a spot (street parking can get tough to find later in the day, too).

Originally intended as a place for children to be able to enjoy the beach without the big waves, this spot instead attracted local seals and sea lions who call it home! On some days you will see hundreds of them laying on the beach and surrounding rocks. Don't get too close, though. They aren't always friendly. (La Jolla Cove is also our go-to place to see 4th of July fireworks)

Our favorite place in the city!! This place is a hit with our 5 year old, and an excellent way to beat the heat in summer. Summertime entertainment includes fun shows, and the Skyfari (suspended cable car) is a great way to overlook Balboa Park.

The 2018 Del Mar Fair runs June 1 through July 4. A fun county fair with plenty of games, rides, music, and FOOD. The fairgrounds also host horse races and concerts throughout the year.
