For the hike, a total of 1280" of ascent is achieved in the 1.1 mile hike, which offer a great conditioning hike for latter High Peaks.
The trailhead is located next to the Poke-o-moonshine State campground off Route NY 9. From the south, take the northway (Rt. I-87) exit 32 and drive north for approx. 9 miles to the campground. From the North, take exit 33 (off I-87) and follow NY 9 three miles south to the campground.

When Fannie Hall died on October 4, 1913, it was the end of the Delord family. In her will, she left her “historic relics” to a museum. Fannie also left the house to the Physicians Hospital. For the next ten years, her faithful servant Catherine Dowling served as caretaker of the house, protecting and preserving not only the house but also Fannie’s historic relics.
Today the Museum is filled with portraits, furniture, dinnerware, books, letters and personal items owned by three generations of the Delord family. Stop by the Museum and see what we are all about!

Its fifth-order Fresnel lens was seen each evening from 1874 until 1930 when a steel tower was erected just south of the structure.
In 2002, the lighthouse was reactivated when the light was removed from the steel tower and re-installed in the lighthouse.
Bluff Point Lighthouse is open seasonally in July and August, Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tours are free and open to the public. The views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains are spectacular from the Lighthouse tower.
Lighthouse tours feature displays on a variety of topics unique to the lighthouse: the fresnel lens, the iron tower, the architecture, the family life of a lighthouse keeper, geology and ecology of the island, and the history of Valcour Island.
