This is my favourite place for Indian food. It is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant and take away. The aubergine dish ( Baingan Achari) or thaalis are fantastic.

Great afternoon tea in Edinburgh if you have booked early. The setting is beautiful and lunch is also very delicious. If you haven’t been able to get a table here try the Grand Cafe on North Bridge. It’s also cheaper.

Excellent views over the city and onto Arthur's Seat. It only takes 10min to walk up Carlton Hill from Princes Street. It is unmistakable with its Athenian acropolis poking above the skyline.
