These are my favorite local restaurants because these restaurants have high quality food, most are authentic in flavor of their country if applicable, and the scene is also good.
Some I put in here are healthy and some aren't. I also included classic must visit restaurants.
The line at this place is crazy! But for a good reason: most delicious cookies ever. There are certain times when there isn't a line to buy cookies 11am-4pm.

Vegan, natural, organic, healthy, fresh, low calories - if you are health conscious like I am, then this is the place for you. There are salads, smoothies, deserts, and other healthy options to eat here that are also filling in the stomach. This location is very small, and mostly good to take food or a smoothie on the go, but the 77th location is bigger where you an sit down and eat your food.

Does Sex & The City ring a bell when you hear of Magnolia's Bakery? Same bakery as the one in the show, except this one is located near you. Although it usually is busy with people all day long, it's not as painfully busy as the one in the West Village where you have to make a line around the corner. It's also has seating where you can enjoy eating your cupcake, as opposed to the one in the village. Try the banana pudding - to die for!

Classic jewish dining experience serving bagels, lox, cream cheese AND they have non-dairy cream cheese available. This place is great for breakfast. It gets filled up fast! So make it there early.

Someone is always in the mood for Mexican food! Just blocks away from the studio, this is my favorite Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Its very authentic and clean eating with natural ingredients and also they make their drinks at the bar with fresh fruits and fresh mixers. Customer service is superb!

Clean, delicious, fresh Israeli food. The well known chef changes the menu often to serve seasonal foods. This place is always busy because it's always good. Highly recommend!

Craving ramen soup and pork buns?! This is the place in the Upper West Side. My cousin that lives in the neighborhood and I visit this place so often that they already know what we will order: PORK BUNS! The ramen is good, but the pork buns are to die for. This place often stays busy because its that good.

This is where the Hudson River runs. In the winter time, it gets cold to walk the river, but in the summer and spring it can be quite beautiful. Also, there are restaurants along the river and bike/pedestrain paths where you can ride your bike, rollerblade, run, or simply take walks etc - sunset being the best time since the sun sets west.

For me, the coolest art to watch in the museum, is the fashion and the interior design of old rooms. But that is just one aspect of the museum. All you have to do is cross the park in order to get there.
