Food Scene

Amazing. Menu has 2 or 3 choices in each category, but the planned 3 course or 4 course menu is recommended. The chef has planned each course to compliment the others. Each dish is simple (such as scallops or guinea fowl), but served with small bits of a variety of related tastes. Each mouthful is a scrumptious surprise. The hostess explains dish ingredients in detail, in multiple languages as needed. The restaurant is tiny, and from several tables you can watch every step of the chef's preparations. Be sure to reserve ahead. Restaurant seats about 24 people.

This little chocolatier is right out the gate and down the street from the old men playing petanque in Le Jardin du Luxembourg. I used to walk past it every day on my way to school, and occasionally I would walk in for a little treat. They have all sorts of chocolates, even ones filled with roquefort cheese, and the ladies there are very friendly. If you go there, you MUST try the Pate a Tartiner--it is even better than Nutella! Vraiment! It only has 4 ingredients: hazelnuts, almonds, sugar and chocolate. I like it because it is not smooth like Nutella but has a little crunch to it; it's fantastic!

Parks & Nature

One of the most beautiful and lovely gardens I've come across. It's so grand and well kept. Next time I come back, I want to bring a picnic. Also, make sure to go check out the medici fountain. If you really enjoy gardens and romantic settings, bring a book to read and enjoy.

Sightseeing

I read Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, so I had to visit this place. Since the church was close to my rental apartment, I popped inside to take a peek. I must say I was impressed with the church and the numerous works of art that are kept here. Among items you will find includes murals by Delacroix, Holy water fonts sculpted by Jean-Baptise Pigalle and paintings by Signol. They had the replica of the shroud of Turin on display here which is the linen cloth that was wrapped around Christ at the time of his burial. It's so mystical! It's definitely one of my favorite churches in Paris.

Arts & Culture

This is just another amazing historical site with a lot of history. Just to see the fulcrum in the center and its historical significance in addition to all the great minds of France buried just below was an amazing experience to witness. I definitely recommend checking out this place if not only just to see the building itself and nothing else.

Shopping

First department store in the world, it opened its doors in 1852. At his opening, it was hailed for its architecture: a concourse of a railway station, surrounded by the balustrades of the two upper storeys, cut by suspended stairways and crisscrossed with numerous bridges. The extensive cast iron beneath the white light of the glass roof composes an airy architecture of complicated lacework. Other than its beautiful architecture, the department store can be described as a temple of luxury: with the most trendy clothes of Paris, a museum-like food emporium, known the world-over as La Grande Epicerie, luxury home furnishings departments and a huge extensive wine cellar.
