At the moment the main tourist attractions in Rosia Montana are the ancient roman mines and the Mining Museum where you can see traditional tools used for gold processing, documents and pictures regarding gold extraction in the area. The latin name was Alburnus Maior. The earliest reference to the town is on a wax tablet dated February 6th 131 AD discovered in the area. But there is archaeological and metallurgical evidence of gold mining here since the late Stone Age.

Corbu Beach from Romanian Black Sea coast has been included in top of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Due to its savage landscape and crystal-like water, Corbu ranks fourth, outranking famous beaches in Puerto Rico, Spain or Brazil. ‘Some 35 kilometers away from one of the busiest ports on the Black Sea, Constanta, Corbu Beach is a land of peace and serenity. This 20 kilometer long beach is sometimes home to people living in tents, trying to get from it all. Histria fortress, built by the Greeks in 657 AD, can be visited, which is just a couple of minutes away, as well as Emisala fortress built by the Byzantines and later used by the Genovese in the 13th and 14th centuries BC’.

The mighty Danube River flows 1,788 miles from its springs in Germany's Black Forest to the Black Sea. Just before reaching the sea it forms the second largest and best preserved of Europe's deltas: 2,200 square miles of rivers, canals, marshes, tree-fringed lakes and reed islands. The Danube Delta is a wildlife enthusiast's (especially a bird watcher's) paradise. Danube Delta Travelers can spend three or more days exploring its passages, teaming with the highest concentration of bird colonies in all of Europe. The maze of canals bordered by thatch, willows and oaks entangled in lianas, offers the perfect breeding ground for countless species of birds, some of them from as far away as China and Africa. Millions of Egyptian white pelicans arrive here every spring to raise their young, while equal numbers of Arctic geese come here to escape the harsh winters of Northern Europe. Some 300 species of birds make Danube's Delta their home, including cormorants, white tailed eagles and glossy ibises. The bird watching season lasts from early spring to late summer. Birds are not the only inhabitants of the Delta. There is also a rich community of fish and animals; from wildcats, foxes and wolves, to even an occasional boar or deer. Altogether, 3,450 animal species can be seen here, as well as 1,700 plant species.

Saint Ana Lake is a unique place in our country, located in the heart of the Eastern Carpathians. Specifically, the lake is located in the Ciomatu massif in Harghita county, on the left of the Olt river, near the resort of Tușnad. It is located at the bottom of the crater of an extinct volcano, and experts say that the most recent eruption would have occurred 42,000 years ago. Saint Ana is the only volcanic lake in Europe.

Poenari Fortress. Standing on a cliff but now in ruins this is known as the real castle of Dracula (Vlad Tepes). To get to the top you must climb up its 1400 steps (takes approx. 30 minutes). Once you arrive at the top of the castle you will find that it is surprisingly small; one third collapsed down the mountainside in 1888. However, entering through a narrow wooden bridge, you come across the crumbling remains of two towers within; the prism shaped one was Vlad`s (Dracula`s) residential quarters. From here, according to the legend, Vlad the Impaler`s wife flung herself from the window, declaring that it was better to die than be captured by the Turks, who were besieging the castle.
