San Carlos. Japanese. It has great Dragon rolls (soft shell crab, avacado and tuna), I have not had a bad roll. Reasonable prices. Nice ambience.

East Palo Alto. Swedish. 2nd floor restaurant. Fantastic price and just this dish is awesome. Salmon, brocoli potatoes and steam veggies, only $8. The salmon melts in your mouth. cafeteria ambience. Great place to get candles and Ikea stuff after lunch.

San Mateo. Northern Chinese. I like the clay pot braised fish and eggplant or the claypot lamb. The orange chicken is great too as they use real orange peel in the sauce. Average Ambience. Not a date night there but a good lunch place. Reasonable price.

Half Moon Bay. Californian. If there is a special occasion like Mother's day, the buffet lunch is awesome. Very pricey but it is a special event!
Don't eat there but check out Barbara's fish trap for lunch, a little drive up north of Half Moon Bay. Awesome fish and chips. Walk around the jetty and perhaps buy some live crab home for tomorrow.
Then go the the Ritz in the afternoon. I love going there for a mint hot chocolate over the fire pit and cuddle up under the blankets looking at the sunset. That will complete an awesome day.
