The New Port of Limassol is one of the busiest commercial sea ports in the Meditterenean. You may want to walk there just for fun and see the industrial compounds or take industrial photography or just check out which ships are docking.

Nice place for swimming (be careful here it has huge waves usually), suntanning, and dining. Can spend all day here exploring. Many beach restaurants and option to rent a sea bed to be comfy all day. The rocky part of the beach that has no restaurants has strong undercurrents and its used by windsurfers so stay safe by not swimming there. Swim if the sea is calm nearby the restaurants and if you are unsure stay close to friends and family. This place has sometimes really giant waves. Gorgeous sunset behind a cliff, makes classic photographs. If you like history, there is a medieval basilica somewhere there on the beach, but not accessible to visitors (the government made it not accessible). Maybe you can take a photo of it though if you have zoom lenses. The area above the cliff is the famous Curium Roman Theatre and the Roman antiquities there cost about 5 euro/each person unless you are a student then with student card entrance is free. Last bus back to Limassol (not from the beach but from Agios Ermogenis chapel), it may change time, so ask the driver!

This is another restuarant in Ladies Mile beach stretch of sandy dunes. I dont have a favorite so you can pick any or bring food for picnic. This area belongs to the British Military base but you dont need passport and there is no checking point. The saltlake in winter is impressive without hundreds of birds lurking around, perfect for bird photography.

Neighborhoods

Even if Google Maps doesnt show Omonoia District to be very pretty, it is a shopping avenue with many cafes late years. You can dine, snack, have coffee+wifi. Since the room you rent has no wifi, and if you opt not to buy a prepaid simcard for internet from the kiosks - -for example Primetel Intenet Prepaid simcard- then your only other option is one of those cafes on Omonoia Avenue, only 200-500 meter walk away.

On the other side of Omonoia Avenue you find the district of Agios Spyridonas. It has mainly residential character, so you can see 1960s onwards architecture in Limassol. It has also cute little specializing shops in car repair, detailing, kiosks, not many but if you really walk around you will find them.

This is a road specifically made for cycling connecting the round-about outside MyMall and running aside the 1st industrial zone of Limssol. Many locals go jogging or cycling here, you can join them? In covid19 guidelines usually you must wear a mask and keep distances.

City/town information

The YPsonas dam and Ypsonas industrial area (you will need a car to get there or bus+ walking) is very impressive. This is one of the biggest industrial plants of Cyprus making fabrics, steel and all sorts of things. If you like industrial photography this is your area, altho Limassol has many official ''industrial zones''. Stay safe of stray dogs in some of those areas.

Liikkuminen

Buses 20 and 30 and 18. No other public transport.

You can get around with buses altho most of them stop at 20.30. Bus 20 connects MyMall Shopping Center to Leontiou Old Hospital Central Bus Station(old town of Limassol). So you can go to these 2 places just with this bus. The old town of limassol is very charming and still on certain streets you can see how life was in 1900s. Great for photographs. Bus 18 (from Pafou Avenue, 1km walk away from the airbnb property), connect the Leontiou Bus Station to Kurion. At Kurion you can visit the ancient city of Curium and then walk down and swim (if its calm sea) and dine at one of the beach restaura

the seaside needs: sunglass, suntaning lotion, big hat, comf

In summer you will need to bring or buy locally from kiosks: a hat, sunscream, sunglasses (quality ones who block the sun UV), and maybe swimming shoes (some kiosks sell them) to walk more safely on rocks and sands inside the sea. A big hat that blocks the sun is essential and life-saving in the sunny months. In summer there is high humidity and in rural areas lots of mosquitoes. Bring anti-mosquito and a decongestant for your nose if you get blockages due to high humidity. Have a first aid regarding heatstroke (but with hat and water you will avoid a heatstroke).
