The City of Pompano Beach has completely updated the beaches with a beautiful walkway and tropical landscaping. There is plentiful parking (new covered parking garage). The beach offers: Volleyball Nets, bicycle rental, picnic & BBQs for grilling, picnic tables and covered pavilions all along the beach area, lifeguards, Splash Park for the kids, children's play area, outdoor exercise stations, restaurants, and beach souvenir shopping. It is a beautiful area to take a stroll at any time of the day.

They sell refreshments such as a basic pizza, chips, candy, and drinks . There is a very minimal prize stand, so I wouldn't try to win tickets.
They also have an above ground ropes course and a trampoline volleyball court for bigger kids.
Waivers must be signed before play.

Florida Atlantic University has an onsite marine biology laboratory with a gallery for viewing research projects conducted by university scientists. Pompano Beach Promenade
The Fishing Pier area is an easy walk from Sea Gardens, Royal Vista, and Santa Barbara Resorts. It is well worth the effort to walk the entire area from one end to the other so you can see all that there is to offer. If you are looking for a day on the beach, note that the north side of the fishing pier is far less crowded than the south side. However, don't set up too close to the pier itself. Try to stay beyond the first set of lifeguard shacks nearest to the pier.
