This is the place to go for fine dining, the menu is regularly updated and local produce is used wherever possible. The standard of cuisine is very high and has received many excellent reviews, but this is not a budget restaurant so be prepared.

Entertainment & Activities

Prussia Cove is designated an AONB and is not only a beautiful location but steeped in history. This was the base for the Carter Brothers who used to smuggle good in here from France. the cove was actually renamed after John Carter's obsession with the King of Prussia. lots more via google. At low tide one can also still see the cart tracks cut into the rocks by the smugglers to haul the booty up from the beach. It is also a lovely cove to spend a sunny day swimming and exploring.

Drinks & Nightlife

Various pubs and clubs here for the young at heart, with some more modern pubs but many old traditional pubs steeped in history and overflowing with character. Penzance also has several supermarkets on the outskirts and lots of quaint independent shops in the cobbled streets at the top of the town. These shops packed with curios mean you are very likely to find something to take home as a memento of your stay in Cornwall

Parks & Nature

At high tide one can get a small ferry boat from Marazion, in its self an interesting old town, across the bay to the Mount for about a pound, but at low tide the mount is accessible via a cobbled causeway. As a National Trust property members can get in for free but others can enter for a nominal fee. the views from the turrets are well worth the climb up the narrow stairs

Sightseeing

At St Erth Station, with ample affordable parking, one can get a train to St Ives which runs above Hayle harbour and the beaches at Lellant and offers fantastic views across the bay to Godrevy lighthouse. This short trip has been recommended as one of the most scenic train trips in the UK. Of course this also solves the big problem of parking in St Ives which originally being a small fishing village with streets designed for the odd horse and cart, is not ideal for todays transport or parking requirements. Famed for the incredible light resulting from the clear sea and clean air, coupled with the reflections off the golden sand, this is a favoured location for artists of all levels.
