This town is a hippy town with plenty of character. Try any of the restaurants and you'll be pleasantly surprised. My favorite are Paia Fish Market, Cafe de Amis, Flatbread, Milagros and the best organic hot plate food is at Mana Foods. Enjoy the experience.

Upcountry Maui and completely affordable after exploring the sights on the slopes of Haleakala. The Panini's are great. No view but good, affordable food. It's BYOB. One of my favorite spots upcountry and not touristy at all.

This outdoor shopping mall has some excellent shopping and dining opportunities. Whalers Museum is a popular attraction in the winter months. The famous Ka'anapali Beach (including "Black Rock") are directly in front of the outdoor shopping mall. Good spot for the typical tourist experience on Maui. Good people watching and a good mix of beach and shopping if the group is divided on what to do for the day.

Beautiful Olivine pools are on the rugged North Shore of Maui. It's about a 1.25 hour drive from Kihei but has some remote great photos to be taken. Good for the adventurous type, it's a moderate hike down to the pools.
