The cottage at Little Island Cove is a delightful base for all of your Downeast adventures, or to just tuck into and spend some time getting away from it all on Frenchman Bay. The cottage is a charming and beautifully decorated space for your stay. It is a detached building with peekaboo water views. The first level contains an open kitchenette, dining area, living room and a bath with shower. Wrought iron spiral stairs bring you to the upper level with an airy, open room containing a queen-sized bed and two twin beds. A short walk down the hill from the cottage brings you to the Little Island Cove beach, with an island to walk out to at low tide and glorious views out to Mount Desert Island. Jump off the rocks, take a swim, hunt for seaglass, build a sandcastle, picnic on the island, relax in the Adirondack chairs, watch the lobster boats go by, go for a paddle in one of the two available kayaks... The cottage is conveniently located near Ellsworth and many Downeast attractions, like Mount Desert Island with Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, Jordan Pond, restaurants, and all the delights of Acadia National Park. It is also near a more isolated part of Acadia, Schoodic Point, with its incredible crashing waves, beautiful vistas, picnic spots, and hiking trails. Rent bicycles and peddle around beautiful Sorrento. Dine in the amazing Ironbound, or experience a quintessential Maine breakfast at Chester Pike's Galley, both a very short drive away. The famous "Sunrise Rail Trail" provides miles of snowmobiling, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. The cottage also comes with the additional option of breakfast in the gourmet kitchen in the main house at Little Island Cove. Boxed lunches are also available upon request. Whatever you may choose to do while here, the cottage at Little Island Cove will be the perfect spot for your coastal Maine getaway!
Lillebo is set near the end of a dead end road with a five minute walk yielding views over Frenchman's bay with Sorrento in the near view and Winter Harbor and Bar Harbor in the long view. The house is set about 200 feet from the road with no neighbors in direct view. There is a screen porch on one end of the house and a garage on the other. In the garage there is a ping pong table, a yard game called corn hole, darts and bikes. There two adult bikes, one youth bike and one kids bike.
We have an open, airy studio apartment with bath and kitchen located approximately 25 miles from Acadia National Park. Pets are welcome as we have a small fenced in area in the backyard. Bring home a lobster and cook it in the fully furnished kitchen.
